Does anybody else have different real information or is it speculation?

This was the case too in 2008 for an M3. You could still do European delivery but it was coming from dealer allocation - it changed about a year later.
Would be surprised if this happens for the M5 too where the first year models dont get true European delivery pricing. The initial demand is going to be high that's for sure. I'm sure we'll know for sure once all the ordering info is released to dealers in 1-2 weeks.

That is 9.5l/100 km which is better than the 550 xdrive and better than the 22 mpg C&D is reporting. Of course, if you are hitting launch mode every day, the mileage will suffer. In any event it is beter the the 11 mpg city the E60 M5 was rated at.

As to the N63/S63 fuel economy, BMW engineers have been quoted as saying the there are some design changes in the M5 engine that will filter down to the 550i and other engines next year which will help with fuel economy. The N/S 63 engines don't hae the technology yet.

In any event, I'd pick a stripped (but still very well equipped M5 before I'd get a loaded 550. I'm not really into soft close doors and can live without dash leather on the M5.
And like I said, impossible for the M5 to have better gas mpg than the 550i.

It now officially has a $1,300 gas guzzler tax. Full order guide @ http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=682808

It's not really apples to apples. Equating prices across continents and countries can get hairy and complex, it's not a mere factor of exchange rates. Taxation is only one variable. Public schooling and education is another factor.

If you add how much you may have paid for your M5, medical expenses, and kids education over a given yr and compare that to the US, you may quickly find you spent far less money than a US buyer with those 3 goods in his 'basket'

True - certain goods like cars and electronics are relatively inexpensive in the US. However, we get killed on health care, education, property taxes, etc. Also, very little investment for the public good, so we get deteriorating roads, soaring poverty, not to mention huge social problems that lead to the largest incarceration rates in the world. There are reasons why immigration from western Europe to the US pretty much stopped years ago.
