Should we move to a colder plug to prevent detonation at the risk of accumulating deposits around the plug? Or keep stock heat range?

Is this decision based on driving style or mods or ...?

Sorry for the rudimentary questions, but inquiring minds want to know.

Where are you getting them for that price? ECS sold Bosch for $38, Febi for $41 and Genuine BMW for $55...but I'd think genuine BMW just Bosch anyways, which made me laugh.

I'm still surprised this isn't being done already. Granted my supercharged Harley F150 engine is crude compared to ours, but I'm putting out over 600hp and everyone there is doing the same 10k intervals but we're running one step colder, $2 copper plugs because they're cheap, don't hold heat like iridium or whatever we use and they're easier to read...not too mention if you've got a bad tune or fueling issues, the plugs will give their lives long before the engine suffers. This happened when one of my Walbro fuel pumps failed.

The plugs are not the same as other sized spark plugs so there is not a direct off the shelf colder heat range plug available normally.

We actually have a set of custom plugs made for the car which are a direct drop in if anyone is interested.

hypereutectic pistons have been used in lots of boosted stock platforms with good results for a fairly cheap manufacturing price. I know the 99-04 lightnings had hypereutectic pistons and with a rod upgrade to 4340 h beams, some guys run 800-900 hp. Its all in the tune and maintenance. Of course a failure will occur at some threshold, but being safe is key. Good tune and maintenance and not being dumb helps cure those ills. Nice numbers BTW.
