Chirping sound
The sound is driving me crazy and it started about a week ago.
I know this was discussed here, but I did a search and nothing came up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THanks

LOL, thanks for cheering me up. I should probably add that it happens under deceleration at very low rpms.

You sure it's not just the blow off valve for the turbo? Should happen after the turbo has spooled up pressure and you let off the throttle, it blows off the excess pressure. Sounds like a chirp.

I had the same issue and it went away on its own.
Only happened between 1000-1300 rpm. There was a guy on here who made it go away with new gaskets between the DP and exhaust. BTW, both of us have Akra. But if you dont have Akra ...it might be related to re-using the OE gaskets with any aftermarket exhaust. http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=969452 Last edited by mastek; 06-01-2014 at 03:48 AM.. |

Good call on the gaskets. I have AMS dp's and Meisterschaft exhaust.

AMS typically supplies new gaskets in their recent DPs. When did you install yours? Mine had em.
Or you could be experiencing "screech factor" that's when your wife is shrieking for you to slow the eff down!!!

I think Ive heard this lots recently too. Is it the closing of the exhaust valves? Or are you valveless/ straight through? Some times I think its suspension when in comfort that is chirping or squeaking over bumps but then I hear it on even roads when decelerating too...

I control the exhaust valves with the wireless remote.
I believe it's the gaskets in between dp's and catback.

I don't think so, I had the car in when they stuck two new rears on and all my vibrations are gone, and its still doing it... They said they looked all the suspension over, so I doubt if it was a visible ball joint it would do that... Also like others have said it only happens on comfort setting not sport/sport plus
