The 21's won't be a mistake. Just make sure you check weights on your wheels. You don't want to go up a Size just to gain 10lbs per corner in pure rim weight.

Lots of great options out there, HRE, Vorsteiner, MORR.

I went with HRE P43SC in 21". I was dead set on the P40SC... but I had P40's on my two previous E60 M5's (not the Conical series). Asked opinions of my firends and fiance... and every single person said P43SC. It's different and very sporty.

that is going to look sick. I was going to go with the P40sc but glad I switch to P43sc.

for 21s, my wife's f10 535i have the BBS RX II that came off our 2009 X5. Car drive smooth as 19s or 20s. She drives our babies around in this. I think it also depends on tires

It took LOTS of thought for me to chose the 43 over the 40... I've always loved the 40 design... but it is extremely common design-wise these days. Loved that look on my E46 M3 Competition package....

I know the 43's will be awesome... but I dont think I'll fully realize it till theyre on!

Great, I also like the P43SC over the P40SC.
I like the odd number of 11 spokes, most other similar wheels has 10 or 12 spokes.

Great choice.

I was at HRE today and you will no doubt have some weight loss with your 21's since I had a very nice drop in lbs with my 20's:

PSS Tires 265x35 and 295x30x20 included in the following:

HRE P44SC 20x9.5 weighed 46.2lbs Stock 20x9 wheels weighed 51.0lbs
HRE P44SC 20x10.5 weighed 51.0lbs Stock 20x10 wheels weighed 56.6lbs

So you might be 2 or 3 lbs heavier in the 21 inch format plus increase tire weight. Make sure you go with PSS's in the 21's; its the lightest tire.

Really depends on where you live - here in NYC/NJ, 21's won't last - Im going with 20" Modulares.

Going to stick with 20s. 9.5x20 up front and 11x20 in rear. HRE P44SCs FTW! ;-)

I am in the NY/NJ area and drive around on 21s and never had an issue really... e60 M5 on 21's, S65 on 21's and then a 750LI on 21s. All 3 were perfect.

On my 550, I had 19's and went up to 20's. The ride got better and I was so much happier. I will stay with 20's on this one as I will use my old wheels and put these stock ones up in the attic. Personalization is what its about and for the ones I have seen on here with 21's I think it will be great. Hey avi8tor and mcvaughan we should get together and take a drive up the national forrest or out in katy back roads together. Matt, I still want to hear that akrapovic. Also, don't forget, first sat in january is cars and coffee 249/louetta. Lets represent the m5 up there. Dingding should be there also along with the other houston m5 crew.

Cars and coffee sounds good. Do people go for drives afterward?

Not to rain on anyone's parade but when I went up tire size (to 20") on my E60 with a good light, forged wheel (RAC Monolite) there was a definite decrease in ride quality or comfort due to lower profile tires. There was too and increase in performance and handling ( ligher and lower rotational mass).
Have read here no impact on ride quality an decreased performance. My experience was the opposite and wanted to share. Went with lowering springs on the F10 and prefer that for me.

Agree. Did H&R drop on my e60 M5 and loved it. Added aftermarket 20s on top of that and it was too harsh...regretted it.

We all know what they say opinions are like, but I'll add mine regardless. I've upgraded the size of the wheels and tires on all of my BMW's, and never experience an issue. When I switched to 21" and lowered on H&R springs on my M5, I noticed absolutely zero increase in harshness, and the car feels a little more planted in corners.

Honestly, I make the change for the destinctive and personal look of the car, not to improve performance or handling. As an example, I've never made changes to my OEM wheels on any of my Ferrari's. I just think the look of a Ferrari is absolutely beautiful right from the get go. A piece of art so to speak.

That being said, I've never noticed a negative impact when I upgrade the size on my Bimmers.

As an example, here's a couple of pictures of my M3 with Advan RS 20's dropped on Dinan springs.

Street wise it is a look that we go after. If it is for the performance and they want to go to the track, I think the guys who go 21 would switch back to the 20''s. There is a look and feel for all of us. Myself, I will. stay with 20's as I'm using the ones from my 550 and the stock ones will be boxed up and put in the attic. Hey cpi, anytime you want to donate your ferrari to the "boots needs a ferrari to drive fund", let me know.
