Yeah...I'm pretty good at modding and always do my research. And the price I paid was ridiculous. Usually an HRE guy and very happy with this purchase. Not sure why you BOTH would stumble over here to the M5 section and post negativity. Serves no purpose. In very poor taste.

And if I don't like them I'll buy 6 sets of HREs and interchange them randomly (taking Sundays off :-). Thanks for the idea!

Bad taste in what way? I see it as doing a public service. I see you have a kid. I have 3, and there's NO WAY IN HELL I'd let them in a car with these wheels.
I have no personal beef with them, but when I see people talking them up, I'll give the person the opportunity to educate themselves about this company. I don't give a rats ass if anyone buys them, but make an educated purchase. They do look good, but my safety and definitely the safety of my children come first.
You obviously didn't read the threads, or you would have seen I posted a link to this thread to show people still don't get it. The bling is not worth it, not to mention the anchors these wheels are.

If you can afford 6 sets of HRE, just get one set of the BBS F1's and be done with it. Best wheel out there.

Well, the point was not as directed at you but at your fellow M3 buddy who chimed in with "do your research", which in fact, I have, and is an utterly improper and insulting assumption that he somehow arrived at with no facts whatsoever. THAT is in bad taste.

Those few threads are not new in any way. I have read them all and made an educated decision. I am also fully aware of Jordan's issues at 360 Forged. It does NOT mean that ADV1 wheels are sub-par. There are THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of sets rolling around on street and track with ZERO issues. You seem to rely on a couple isolated issues. No, I would NEVER put my children at danger for any wheels or anything else. ALL wheel manufacturers have issues like these. There are a lot of people who hang on to a particular companies past problems with one or two things and then you get a bunch of people who have NOTHING to do with the wheels or the parties involved (frankly most know VERY little about wheels or the subject matter at hand in most of these discussions) and they spew off "yeah". Then several others follow suit and then people take this as "fact". It happens more often than not on these boards. Very few take any time to do any sort of research or to gain any type of first hand knowledge whatsoever and they just regurgitate crap they "hear" or read in magazines or in an online "opinion".

Some ADV1 data: http://adv1wheels.com/technical/testdata.php

Quick 2 minute Google search:

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60...ty-wheels.html

http://www.bmwland.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=41800

http://tallyimports.com/archive/index.php/t-5049.html

http://forums.quattroworld.com/lrqc/msgs/42108.phtml

The reason that I found YOUR comments in poor taste was that you posted this on MY thread about MY wheels. If you want to police the actions and quality of products then start your own thread on topic-don't trash others'.

I appreciate the BBS suggestion but they are not to my taste.

ANY WHEEL can fail. That's not the main issue.

You obviously did not go throug the threads, which I understand since they're pretty long. The issue is the BS ADV told the customers afer the problems were found.

In one thread, they said the extra holes were drilled to save weight??? That was a total lie.
In another thread, they said their wheels are TUV certified, but when asked to provide the certificate, they said they wouldn't because someone could copy it... HRE comes along and posts all their TUV certifications a couple pages later. They maybe TUV certified now, but they weren't back then and said they were. It was flat out lie.

You post in a public forum, you open your self up for comments. If you can't handle the comments, then don't post- most people don't post. I've had threads go completely OT or people say they don't like what I posted. It is what it is- an open forum.

What you don't understand is how "meaning" you attach to comments that you read is purey fabricated by that little voice in the back of your own head. Without giving the world a psychology lesson here, lets just say that it's human nature. We all do it. We hear something and we say "well if he says that he must mean this...", "anyone who does that must be...", "if that guy wears that outdoors then he must be...". It is all made up meaning based upon our own personal life experiences from an early age. If you pause right now and pay attention your own little voice is doing it right now as you interpret my words. You cannot read people's minds or interpret any meaning they any actually have, no matter how keen you any think that you are. To relate this to your "opinion" of ADV1, you have formed a general opinion of them based upon you not liking the way they blamed things on outside forces and made excuses. Could they have lied? Sure? Does it mean they make bad wheels and cannot be trusted? Who knows? Point is that the answer to the last question is not "yes" without factual data to support it. It IS "yes" in your mind because you CREATED that meaning. Threads such as those are entertaining because you see how people like to be "liked"-also human nature, so you end up with page after page of endless posts essentially saying "yeah! What he said". Again, human nature. Socially good thing to do to be in agreement with masses and just jump on the bandwagon. Problem is, that if you look at it from a very non-emotional and non-biased standpoint you clearly see that vey few (if any) of hundreds of posters have any first hand knowledge of the situations being discussed and certainly no insight into the engineering principlee that define road worthiness of wheels or safety specifications. Therefore, their posts are nothing more than "opinions", based upon "meaning" that they created in a fraction of a second while reading someone else's made up meaning-like I said-entertaining. Now if you have actual factual data based upon engineering principles that would demonstrate a lack of safety then please post it. I would be highly interested. That would be pure unsubstantiated proof. Otherwise, posting libelous (published damaging opinion) is not only baseless and useless. It is potentially actionable and very irresponsible. I am not here to get into an argument with you. I agree that public forums are a place to express opinions. It is what most forum content is derived from. I do not however agree that it is appropriate to post insulting opinion on someone's thread when it was not one that was asking for that sort of opinion. It would be highly appropriate to start your own thread on any such subject for which you would like to get the bandwagon jumpers going. I enjoy those. Now, taking my own advice, I will not assume that you intended to insult me. Very likely that you did not and that your intentions were good. I just don't feel that it was appropriate to post that content on my thread. We may have a different opinion on that and that is fine. Please just respect my position as I would on your thread.

Look, is it possible that because of past flaws that ADV1 could have improved on their products? Is it possible that they have not? Is it possible that their products have gotten even worse? The answer to all three questions is "yes". It is not possible for them all to be true though right? Point is that the possibilities of each exist. It takes facts to give us the true answer. In your head right now the answer to "do their products suck?" is "yes" because of your own interpretation. I just don't like to buy into things based upon made up opinion-that's all. It doesn't mean that you should throw logic to the wind. It simply means that consideration should be given to actual fact and not solely on opinion. Think about it, most people, the "mediocre majority', in this world get so "stuck" because they go through life, floating through each day listening to their little voices instead of ever stopping to look around and consider other possibilities and opportunities. They listen to the media, they believe the Internet (how silly is that to believe opinions of total strangers? Reminds me of that commercial where the girl says "there's my date. he's a French mode"l), they believe political media personalities on both sides of the fence (as if BOTH could be correct), etc. It all is so funny. Look at the religious wars and political anger that goes on all day almost entirely based upon opinions people form-most of them with ZERO consideration of the other side's view. It cause crazy harm to people across the globe. It is NUTS when you think about it and powerful when you understand that most bs is just bs that really is not meant to be done "to" you. People do what hey do and most do the very set that they know how with the tools that they have.

Again, I am not saying that you are wrong or right in your assessment of ADV1. I am no fanboy of any company by any means. I just don't like that you posted this on my thread when the topic was not about soliciting the opinion of suitability. No further issues here.

The F12 looks solid with those wheels. I like it a lot. I also like when you said "
These will be on a heavily modded M6".
