ordering M5 or get another E90 M3?

ok, i have an order sheet for a 2013 M5 and was about to pull the trigger but there is a recently traded in M3 sedan that just became available.

The M5 would be MCB/black with manual transmission, 20's, rear tv's (for kids), heads up, and bmw apps. thats it. Configured this way, i can get it for less than US base MSRP

The M3 sedan is a 2011 that is loaded and has a manual transmission. Its grey and has a sunroof which are the detractors for me. I'm probably looking at a +35K difference between the two vehicles.

i have two small kids. the car would be used really just for commuting and occasional trips to the ring when i can't bring the toy or racing.

This would be my 4th M3 if I go that route. If i get the M5, it would be my first M5. I'm just worried I would get a little tired of the size of the M5. for those that switched from M3 to M5 any regrets?

Get whatever you budget allows. If you can afford the M5 go that route.

I came from a 5 series to a 3 series... can't wait to get back into a 5. It's really a perfect sized cruiser and road rocket. You won't have any regrets with the m5... Guaranteed!

Get the M5 so you can put more money into the economy and create more jobs! You either pay it in a car payment or taxes

I would say you are taking a big risk if you are planning to buy the M5 without a test drive.

I believe the M5 is the best car in the world right now, however, it is a very different car from the M3. A man who knows what he wants would not be cross shopping the two.

You can test drive another F10 5-series model to see if you like the size.

I ordered the M5, but I would most likely get the new M3 sedan if I could wait an additional year or so.

I test drove a 550i with manual transmission and thought that I could live with the somewhat large size. It does have the advantage of a more spacious interior. However, overall I would prefer a somewhat smaller and lighter car.
