Hazard triangle and first aid kit

Did you guys get the hazard triangle and emergency kit? I was looking in the compartment where these should be located on the inside of the trunk and it was empty, I asked my dealer about it and he said that the NA cars did not come equipped with these two items...I can maybe see maybe not giving the triangle as we get free roadside assistance, but no first aid kit?? He even showed me the other M5 on the floor and it also didn't have these pieces in the trunk

For some reason, those items do not get included on US spec cars. For those who do ED, they will be in the car upon pick-up at the Welt. The BMW person showing you your car will tall you to take those with you upon drop-off if you want to keep them - otherwise they will be removed from the car prior to shipping.

I kept mine from ED and have them in my trunk right now. Makes me feel a little more special when I get up in the morning every day.

Salesman told me that the 5 series/m5 dont come equiped with those items anymore. Wish I had taken mine from my 550 when I sold it.

The Triangle and First Aid kit are required in Europe that's why they come with the car when it is picked up in Munich during ED. When dropping the car, it is advised to remove these items as they are not included in the list submitted to U.S. customs, ergo, they are usually removed by the company receiving the car in the dropoff location prior to shipment to the U.S.

Yep packed in my luggage after I dropped of my car in Munich. During the ED process they said remove it from the car, or it will come up missing during the journey.

I left mine in the compartment in the trunk when I shipped it back from ED and it was still there when the car arrived at my dealership.

Like most others who did ED, I brought the first aid kit and warning triangle with me after dropping off my car in Germany. Also got a reflective vest. But I have a suggestion, contact some Canadian dealerships to order both these items. Years ago, when I picked up my E46 M3 at Spartanburg, I noticed these two items were listed in the owner's manual, but missing from my car, so I called a Canadian dealership, and they had both these items. Good luck.

The first aid kit is taken out of the car at the VPC (if left inside) as it includes drugs/medication not approved/tested by the FDA.
As has been mentioned you can buy one in Canada ,eBay and/or other folks "importing" ...

That still takes a while to arrive. I'm glad we get them here in Europe. Just a couple of weeks ago I used it when the car in front of me slipped and crashed on an icy autobahn. I was able to stop just in time and kept my car there to illuminate the crashed car that didn't have any functioning lights. Placed the warning triangle about a mile behind my brand new F10 to avoid anyone driving in to the back of it :P And thats not something roadside assistance can help you with. So I would always recommend having those things in your car.
