Vibration w/ new wheels and H&R springs

Going back to the shop tomorrow. Had new 21" forged wheels and springs installed. Have a vibration at higher speeds. Any thoughts out there???

Make sure they did not strip any of your strut screws. Double check wheel balance first, then to the spring shop.

Hey boots. I meant to post in wheel / tire section. If they stripped the bolt that would cause a vibration? I originally had a noise in the front driver side and brought it back as I found it while pulling out of the lot. They pulled the car in and made some adjustment to the front strut under the hood. Said the bolt was loose. That noise went away but now I have the vibration. They are going to put old wheels back on to eliminate if it's the wheels. Thanks for the feed back. Very much appreciated. Btw I have a top notch shop doing the work and have total confidence in them. Just frustrating.

This happened to me. But they had to replace a couple parts. I knew I wasn't going crazy. So if yours was loose once I'm willing to bet it is stripped and cause your vibration. They can fix it though. Oh yea. Don't worry about the wrong section. I'm sure the moderator is getting ready to move this. He he

Most likely one of your front wheels aren't balanced.

Same thing happened to me with aftermarket wheels it ended up being that the rim wasn't 100% hubcentric and needed hub centric rings to fix the problem but I went from a steering wheel shimmy at certain speeds to a super smooth ride. I didn't end up finding out that was the issue until 2 hunter road force balancings later that didn't fix the problem.

I suggest you measure the wheel to make sure it is hub centric.

My Macht Schnell spacers vibrate over 80mph. Going to confirm this in the coming week. Did you use spacers by any chance?

My H&R spacers are buttery smooth through XXX mph. Spacers unless they're defective or improperly installed don't usually cause vibrations.

Sounds like shit manufacturing. Can't believe you paid money for that wheel when BMW supplied a better quality product from the factory.

So it ended up that the new H & R springs weren't the issue. I put the factory 20's back on and the car was smooth as silk. We had the front wheels checked with a dial indicator and they were out 30 thousandths. Working with velos they are cutting new fronts for me. The rears are ok as I also put the new ones on with the factory fronts to confirm. All was good even at 130mph. Velos is standing by their product. Will post pics once they are back on the car.

No spacers. Also wheels are custom for the car so they mounted perfectly. Just frustrating when you spend 5 k for wheels and have these issues. Velos is standing by their product though.

Stealth, can't argue that fact. The 21's are beautiful though and classy. What good is it though if you sacrifice performance which I won't. I feel confident at this point though that I'll get the issue worked out.
