M3 vs M5 vs M6

I could use your guys help here. I have a friend who is in the market to buy a M. It will be his first M. He has a budget around 60-75k. He is looking for a manual car. He's test drove a m3 manual an a m6 dct. He's going to try an find a manual m6 in our area to test drive as well as a m5. I've offered my manual M5 for him to drive so he can get an idea. I'm just looking for people that went from one car to another An what they felt about it pros vs cons etc. he likes the m3 An how quick an nimble it is. I just need your guys help so that I can hopefully lead him to the right car for himself! If you had m3 an went m5 y? Or vice Versa same with m6. Thank you guys in advance! Appreciate all the input you guys can provide as I will share it all with my buddy! He's coming from a 335 as well figured that might help!
Thanks
Shashin

M3: Smaller(= more nimble, less room, not as many features available), ~$75K

M5, M6: Bigger(= Less nimble, more room, more features available), ~$115K

With a $75K budget he's stuck with an M3, unless he is looking for pre-owned. If that's the case then an M6 is right at the edge of his budget but an M3 is probably below. used M3 = ~$55K, used M5 = ~$65K, used M6 = ~$75K.

Coming from a 335i, same room = M3, more room = M5, M6.

That's about it.

he is looking for a used car, we can only find one manual m6 for sale nationwide but also i was with him yesterday and there is more room inside an m3 than the m6 so m6 is out.

Are you comparing M3 sedan vs M6 coupe? I have a hard time believing m3 had more room. What year?

If he is looking for Manual, I would say M6 is too big to have fun as manual car. The DCT is the right transmission for M6 but having fun with manual would be M3... BTW why not M4?

I was going to say, M4 is also great choice. Otherwise, you will want either M5 or M6 GC for the sedan. I am the same way. I love the size of the 5; quick and agile, but also versatile, especially with fold-down seats. I also like my F15, but do not see myself ever in a G07 or G12.

EDIT: The first time I read that statement, I admittedly thought you said he "was a 2 year old."

If he needs room and 4 door for sure M6 Coupe is not the right choice because has 2 doors and almost zero room on backseat for adults; however it has room for a 2 year old baby... Believe me or not M4 has more room than M6 on backseat

I have to agree. I think everyone agrees one car cannot do it all, but the M5 arguably comes the closest to checking all the right boxes.

we went to test a m6 coupe and man there is no room for a 4 years old, he is 6`2 slim and im 6`3 super fat and we felt tight, then we jumped to a m3 because they did not have any manual m4 and damn the car felt so big inside, we had a good time with the sales man, so he came out smiling after driving the m3 so now the m3 is on the list but m6 is off, he likes how m3 feels more or less like a refined sti vs m5 that is just fast and comfortable.
