Package tray flutter
I did a quick search and didn't see it as a topic, so I'll run this odd event past you guys. Driving along about 60 to 70 mph and thought I'd just put both rear door windows down to see how the cabin would feel as far as wind buffeting. Cabin was fine but I got an awful flutter, with noise and vibration from the package tray under the rear window! It was visibly moving in the rear view mirror, and when I rolled those windows up, and the front door windows down it didn't have the same effect. Must be the way the air hits the tray from the rear windows. I looked in the trunk and didn't see any obvious way to secure the tray better with the steel backing running the width of the trunk. Anyone else had the tray vibration?

Most cars do this if you open the rear windows only. Has something to do with the aerodynamics.

yea I remember this wen I sat in the back of my dad's accord in 1986, it actually hurt my ears. If u open the sun roof or crack a front window it should stop.

I did try different window open configurations, and the sun roof as well, but whenever the rear windows were open, regardless of any others open, the package tray was vibrating heavily. It didn't get to the hurting level for me in the front, but I sure as hell wouldn't drive any further than the time it took to put the rear windows back up with that noise! I'm glad I don't have a large dog who likes to have his head out the window!
