New owner checking in! NZ m5

Hi Everyone

I am back in an M5 again!

My first one was a 3.6l E34 in the UK in 1999, a brilliant car, then I was in a 328 coupe, a 545i, then a 335d (still a favorite!) then an AW E92 m3, which I will miss for sure. I've had the M5 for just a day and it continues to surprise and delight.

Car had 1340 kms yesterday, still smells new, so its had an easy life so far, and is already run in which is great. It's going love its new owner too, the racks for my boards/bikes are about to go on, its done its first school run, and I will report back on my first track day soon.

A big thanks to Andy at Team McMillian BMW here in Auckland who made it easy for me to get into the car.

Cheers
Stu

Hi Everyone

Update, wow what a great car! I have nearly everything worked out now, the only thing is a cannot get the seat perfect..but I will.

Everything else is great, super powerful and remarkably uses 33% less fuel than my M3 which is an excellent bonus, if only because I don't have to stop at the gas station all the time!

On a car nerd note, is it just me or do these things generate a lot of heat..seams to spill out all over of the place ie coming out of under the car behind the front wheel when you park up etc the fans etc must go crazy in LA, NZ is relatively cool. temp is normal of course on the gauge. BTW, my business partner's 2012 S6 seams similar, TT V8?

More pics to come

Cheers

The car does generate quite a bit of heat. It is completely normal for the fan to run after the engine is shut off though. It's because of the twin turbos.
