Just an update for anyone who is paying attention still. I received my eBay inserts and they were as expected. Cheap.... But they probably would have worked had I decided to use them.

Here is what I did instead. The body shop I deal with is by far and away the best shop with in any reasonable distance and they have an outstanding reputation so I wasn't worried about being taken care of.

They presented me with two options.

1. They would order a whole new set of handles at their expense and install them.
2. Mold and color match the door handles at their expense as well as offer future discounted labour for future installs.

I decided to try option 2 for a couple reasons. First, I go through cars like laundry and they always end up with cosmetic additions so the discounted labour is nice. Second, color matched and molded sounds different and interesting to me.

I took a couple pics of how it turned out and as soon as I figure out how to post them I will. All in all I'm happy with the outcome.

@YXEM5 did the eBay inserts work at all? Curious for other members.

?
The set I got would have worked. They weren't perfect but they could have been made to work. Obviously, they don't clip in they just have 3M adhesive. But as a potential $11 fix for a $1300 problem the would more than do the trick.

That's great news! Those have been hard to come by so good to know it's an option.

Yours came out great
