Who has Picked up their LCI M5
My LCI M5 has arrived at the dealership, I have not seen it as the dealers is 45 miles away.
I get mine 1st September, anyone got theirs yet?.

Number Plate Snob.
I have a private plate but the next owner will want the latest plate I'm sure.

I've heard, but don't understand, comments like this over the years from UK owners. Can you explain the number plate system in the UK for the rest of us?

Or to make us think we need to change cars more often. So September signifies late 2013 too 2014 Mark change; and the March plate change does signify the year. The current plate has 13 in it,being from March to September, the next plate in September has 63 in it to the following March. Meaning late 2013 I suppose. Next March will have 14 in, it showing it's 2014 and so on.So Late 2014 plate will have 64. Silly I suppose but must have some logic in there somewhere anyone?.

Actually no one will care whether it's a 13 or 63 and in the meantime the car will have depreciated another £3,000!

Logical for a government bureaucrat I suppose (although it sounds more like something coming out of Brussels than Whitehall ). So do you keep the same number plates for the life of the car?

you can keep number plate for the life of a car or you can put private plate to the car and take it off whenever you want |

Took all your Valid comments on board , decide to "go and get it ASAP, and yesterday this happened to my 330 D M Sport touring
The worst part is a two week wait for a screen from germany due to the extra cameras ect in the Car.

the night i put my m3 on sale, stupid diplomat smashed my front bumper and bent my bonnet, while my car was parked on single yellow... and i have painted my front bumper from stone chips just 7 days before that. btw, if you are around london, give a call to Topaz Detailing and speak to Mazin or Nabyl, say you are calling from Greg, they will give the best treatment to your new car, you will never regret. (best detailers in UK, if not the world) |

john, is that a radar detector mounted on the dash of your 330? I thought they were illegal in the UK?

Haven't you figured out that we're all a bunch of adrenaline junkies with no sense? Seriously, sorry that happened. Will the dealer not accept it anyway if you write them a check for the windshield? If so, I would pay them, jump in the new M5 and forget it. |

I had a "Lazer detector" in my RS4 and since them the UK Police are well up to speed so to speak about finding them on Cars, so I do not have one now. If they find one on your car in the UK now they prosecute you for "perverting the course of justice" that carries a lot of clout here, so not worth the risk. Well spotted though.

Yes, I guess that makes me feel better but the wait is still a tough one. Like I said before, it is too easy to think about what else I can do to it and if I should look more closely at a Porsche! (uh...did I just say that?)
