This is encouraging news. My 335i was my first BMW, and I hate to say I avoided them before because of reliability concerns. Had Honda/Acura before that. When I bought it, many people told me "oh boy you're in for a bad time", especially w/ the new turbo N54 engine. It turned out to be the most durable car I've had and after 9 years of nearly daily use it still felt new.

Not really. My car was bone stock except 305/30/20 tires for better traction at launch

I've had positive experiences with M cars...

Had an E39 that I sold at 109k
Just sold my E60 at 106k

both were 6 speed manual and simply kept up with all maintenance. There were some sensors here and there but nothing major to engine or transmission...

It will be interesting to see people's experience with higher-mileage F10 M5s. As for me, mine only has 19k at the moment.

Lol. My 07 gmc Yukon is at 211k and the only thing that has broke or went out was the tranny. I take care of my cars. But if some want a garage queen to admire more power to them. I spend my money to use those items and not worry about the cost after. If you have to worry just buy a Honda Civic and call it a day

Timely discussion as I'm looking at 550i's but also a M5 with 46k miles. All are 2014s and the 550's have less miles. But the chance to own a M5 might be too good to pass up. I'd obviously have to look into the extended warranty since the factory is just about up. It's non CPO.

Seems like maintenance was done per carfax.

You'll regret not buying the M5 ... just make sure you buy warranty.
