4k Rev Limit when Stationary

Had my supersprint downpipes fitted today and only regret is why I didn't have them fitted earlier..

Sound is very addictive especially downshifting ..really has opened the car up

Tried doing a search but couldn't find anything conclusive ..when car is stationary and in N cannot rev above 4k..is this some sort of protection feature and any way of overriding it..

Tried all sorts of various modes and still no joy..car was pretty warm as just done over 100 miles

Anyone have any ideas as to why and any way it can be coded out

Thanks

The 4K limit while stationary is a safety feature so you don't over rev the engine at idle. There is software governor that will limit the upper RPM. Not sure if it can be coded out but truthfully, I don't think you want to.

.. also refer to this: http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=847135
