I love my SO interior. If you go with AW, I feel like it is a must. I would add though, that tinting the windows is necessary to subdue the amount of red that shows on a sunny day (not to mention to add contrast to an AW car).

Can't take credit...someone on a Porsche forum recommended them. Will never go back to driving without them.
Side note - if you look closely, I'm at 60 in 2nd, 6000RPM. That is roughly where the car will be from a 60MPH roll. Not much RPM to work with 3rd gear 60MPH pulls = losing battle

I'd be interested in seeing more pics of Sakhir Orange interiors. Specifically, trying to get a comparison of Aluminium Trace and Fineline Anthracite on Extended SO.
Torn between the two. In some pics Fineline Anthracite looks black/grey (good!) in other pics it has a brown tinge to it which I dislike. Aluminium trace maybe the safer option! Quite like the accent line above the glovebox too. Fineline Anthracite points: + Looks classy + makes the plastic around the vents stand out less - Not exclusive to M cars - seems like it sometimes has a brown tint to it. - possibly varies depending on production batch? Aluminium points: + Looks sportier + Adds contrast to the dash + Additional accent line/contours + Exclusive to M cars - highlights the plastic vent surrounds - doesn't look as sophisticated Just for completeness... Piano black + Definitely black! - looks as if it'd attract scratches and finger prints - cost option - makes entire dash look very dark (A few of these are quite subjective!) |

You are right on the negatives. It does show finger prints and there are reports of it showing scratches. I don't dust and clean it frequently...maybe once a month, using a good quick detailer an micro fibre towel that picks up the dust. I also sealed it with Sonax early on. I would agree though, it definitely requires more effort to keep "like new" but IMHO it is well worth it

Exactly!
If one is going to race in an F10 M5 from a 60mph then one must start in 2nd gear. You've still got 1,200rpm to work with and you'll be starting the rolling race in a higher point in the horsepower band. My advice for the day.

I also have a 2012 Porche 911 GT2 RS and a 2013 M5 in addition to the Audi. Although the Porche's body is red in color, seats are black, same with the Monte Carlo Blue M5. I don't argue with my gay friends that they may have better tastes when it comes to color for clothes, shoes, etc. Don't almost gays have that advantage? I guess you as a gay person have that special "gene" too.

it's fine, red themed leather has been around BMWs for a while. it's the bees knees, it helps resale, people love the red combo. In the M3 world it's all about Fox Red interior.

really you have those cars too? why not throw in an aventador while you're at it? the only thing faster than that is how fast the crap shoots out of your mouth. and a GTR.

Seriously though...it is to alleviate "sweaty palm syndrome" as RPiM5 Dave put it. My hands don't get overly sweaty, however, they do sweat and I don't like the feeling of the wheel being damp under my hands, as I am constantly thinking about wiping down the wheel to keep it dry. Also, the wheel can get a little slippery. With the gloves the wheel stays nice and dry, and I feel a bit more "glued" to it especially when cornering.
