I probably wouldn't run 2 different types of "tunes" regardless if 1 is piggy back style and other is flash tune.
I would deff wait for someone to get it done or ask to see results of their test vehicle first.

Thanks. I've seen on one of the Bimmerpost's members list of mods that he was running both. Ill try to figure out who the member is and see if we can get him to chime in.

I have both, BMS and the Gintani "tunes". I guess I should buy a vbox so that I can get some feedback for the board. I was originally told about Gintani by Alex@Alpine. Alex did some remote coding for me and said I should talk to the Ginanti guys about their "tunes". I only have about 1,000 miles with their catless downpipes and "tunes", still no CEL. Gintani told me there was no issue running BMS and their "tunes".

Guess I just don't understand how that can be beneficial.
If BMS and Cobb both have increased map parameters, wouldn't it be conflicting with each other ? Doesn't really make sense how it could work to benefit without causing some type of issue.
It would be cool if someone from BMS would chime in on this subject matter.
If it is true then I'll be running that on my S63T that has Dinan D-tronics and add back the BMS I removed.
I emailed BMS and will post up their reply.

Thanks for sharing. What brand downpipes (catless) do you have?

Just talked to Alex at Gintani...sounds like they are very close to fully cracking the DME. I a, strongly considering their tune that they currently have. Anyone else have it...experience so far?

I may be the only one with it on this board, so far. I don't have vbox or dyno results, except for butt dyno. I had BMS before I got the Gintani downpipes and "tunes". I definitely noticed the hp/speed gains when I added BMS. I then definitely noticed the hp/speed gains when I added Gintani downpipes and "tunes". I don't know, however, if the Gintani gains all came from their downpipes or the "tunes" or a combination of both. I wasn't looking for an additional tune when I got the Gintani "tunes". I only got the Gintani "tunes" because I was told about not receiving a CEL from the catless downpipes if I got the "tunes". So far, no CEL. I haven't had a chance to verify if the speed limiter removal is in fact working. No good roads in Dallas/Fort Worth, I need to get out of town soon. But probably should get vbox first so that I can share the results with everyone.

For N54s, the jb4 controls all aspects of the tune... the cobb is simply a reflash of the fueling tables to change scalars. The latter has to be done via flash in order to run higher concentrations of e85.

is the "tuning" done remotely ?
Can a scan tool pick up CELs from the downpipes that the tune is masking?

It was completed remotely which took about an hour.

I have no idea about the second question.

So with Gintani tune and DPs you are getting more power than with the BMS alone? From what you can feel?

Yes, but everyone should feel an increase in power when adding catless downpipes, regardless of whether BMS is already installed.

Correct. I'll keep updating every 500 miles or so, or until I get a CEL, which is probably likely. That's just me being a cynic and assuming I wasted my money on the "tunes".
