Any rumors for 2015?

It's usually this time of year that the rumors start to fly about minor changes for the coming model year. I will likely replace my 2013 with a 2015 CP.

TFT Instrument cluster??

The last time I talked with some folks at M GMbH they mentioned that a full TFT instrument cluster wasn't planned any time soon. No rhyme or reason.

If I had to guess, BMW's reasoning might be that refresh rates aren't quick enough or some other technical limitation.

After sampling the new display in a 7-Series recently I have to say it is quite nice. I was hoping the F15 X5 would be available with it, but it is not.

I had it in the 535d - very high definition and can present a lot of information, however, fine in normal use, but when accelerating hard, the dials cannot keep up (bit like the mph in the HUD), i.e. sometimes you take your foot off the throttle pedal and the dials are still skipping to higher speeds, even though the car is now decelerating. Not yet right for an M car.

This may sound weird, but I'm finding it easier to moderate the acceleration in the M5, whereas in the 535d you booted it and ended up going way faster than you actually intended (possibly down to reduced aural indicators), the jump in that was worse - sometimes up to 20mph

This is contrary to the original purpose of a digital (LCD or TFT) tach... the Lexus LFA had to switch to LCD because the mechanical tach could not keep up.

This what i was thinking. The LCD if calibrated properly should be able to accept and process input much faster than any mechanical tachometer just like the LFA Lexus so the previous statements about the LCD not keeping up with the hard acceleration makes no sense.

If Lexus can make an LCD than can display tachometer accurately in a super car then BMW should be able to do the same. No excuses.

You don't have to take my word for it (I got that same result many times over, even uphill, before anyone asks), just find a MFIP equipped car and take for an extensive test drive to see if you get the same results.

And nor am I suggesting that the MFIP is more or less accurate than std electronic gauges with mechanical parts, just that MFIP has it's quirks (or at least my Feb/Mar 2013 built car did). I haven't driven an LFA, so cannot comment on that.

I suspect changes will be minor - colours maybe - BMW will be fully focused on the GXX 5 series now.

2015 model will have no changes. 2015 M6 will likely have LCI.

Expecting more of the same for the M5, also I believe 2015 will be the 2nd last year of production for the car with the new 5er set to be released the following year. I can't believe how fast time is flying!

Knight Rider never had this problem with K.I.T.T.

Here's my bets:
Carbon fiber roof option
New interior standard leather options
Integrated turn signal lights in side mirrors
Full TFT display
CCBs price lowered

My thoughts on your predictions...

Carbon fiber roof option - - No chance. They aren't going to revise the entire frame to fit it with a CF roof near the end of the life cycle.
New interior standard leather options - - Possible, but I doubt it. They already removed a lot of the choices and made them Individual options.
Integrated turn signal lights in side mirrors - Possible
Full TFT display - Doesn't seem likely.
CCBs price lowered - Very, very unlikely.

What about the lease deals, residuals/money factors and other cash incentives? Is it a good idea to wait for MY2015 or will things get worse?

Also when will the production end for F10 M5?

I think that if BMW was going to make that change, they would have done it with the MY14 LCI as they did with the other F10 models.

I think that the F10 is scheduled to remain in production thru MY17 (seven year cycle beginning with MY11). So there's a couple years left yet. With the next gen 5er being released in 2017 as a MY18, the next M5 probably won't appear until 2018 or 2019.

Sounds like you need to press the button pictured here until the readout in your dash displays "Sport Plus".
