The one I received in Indiana for a 90 in a 70 had LIDAR on it, but the one I received from the cherry hills police didn't have a place on the ticket to write what was used.
My settings are set so I can detect everything and I made sure of this when Cartoys installed. It has worked multiple times. I was traveling towards him and he was in the left turn lane as I was coming towards him. When I passed him he whipped around and flicked his lights on. He told me specifically I was doing 20 over which was 60 in a 40 so he must have used some type of device. Whatever the device is, I still don't know why I didn't receive any warning (I at least got a "laser shifting" warning when I got hit by the LIDAR in Indiana and he wrote the exact amount over (20mph).) Anyways, 60mph in this car feels like you are crawling along at a snails pace.

When I am traveling 55 on the highway, I tend to be even more aware of other people driving. People constantly zipping by me, people turning without using their turn signals, using phones, texting. I notice drivers not coming to a complete stop at stop sign or stop light (3 second rule) especially when they are making a right hand turn at a red stoplight, some people don't even slow down at all. Just lots of bad driving around us.

I was in the left lane and he walked in front of a car in the right lane and in front of me and signaled me to pull over. I thought he was a crossing guard for a split second. Thing is that I was sick and coming from the doctor, driving very leisurely. Luckily those are the only times I get pulled over and not when I am drifting around the Beltway.

Read this: http://escortradarforum.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=1560 The Escort 9500ci does not have the ability to detect and alert to all radar signals. It routinely does not alert to radar signals whose duration are less than 0.5 seconds. It does not have the programmability to allow the disabling of RDR (radar detector rejection) a filtering program designed to eliminate false alerts of radar signals that originate from other radar detectors primarily Cobra radar detectors. |

So hypothetically, I was driving on I-66 West headed out to my favorite driving road and allegedly I'm going around 100 mph (just to stretch the legs a bit) b/c there was only one car on 66. As I pass a couple of hills in the median and before I get to my exit 10 miles away, I pass two VSP sitting in the median facing opposite directions. If I did have the Bel-Stir+ in my car, it allegedly didn't go off b/c they didn't have radar activated. However, if this actually happened, they could have hit me with instant laser and I could have maybe had jammers that blocked their laser and continued on my way. Perhaps after seeing one of the VSP brake lights come on, I might have thought that he was coming to get me anyway and if that was real or imagined, I might have floored it (120 mph) to the next exit and theoretically alluded an imaginary pursuit. If this really happened on Mother's Day yesterday (and it might have), it would be a good story to tell and share lessons learned such as hypothetically speeding in a non-controlled environment, especially I-66, can be costly and lead to an unwanted encounter with LE...but, sometimes kind-of-sort-of fictional situations like this can lead to very real and pleasant happily-ever-after feelings of avoiding VSP and a license suspending fine/ticket. Oh, and perhaps I took Route 7 back to NOVA b/c driving on 66 in either direction might as well be VSP/LE's version of cars & coffee...
Note: Favorite Road info for those in the area - Blue Ridge Mtn Road b/w Route 50 and Route 7. Lots of curves, inclines/declines, & almost no other cars ever, especially on the weekends - but there is a federal weather service compound out there that looks like Gitmo from the outside and your imaginary Bel-Stir+ will go off b/c of the weather radar activity.
