My first M5 had the wood trim. That was okay, I wasn't complaining. The second M5, I found mostly the aluminum trim around, which I felt didn't compliment the black interior well.

Then came the Piano Black... It's absolutely beautiful! I love the flat lacquer, the shine, and how ti flows so well with the full black leather option. Next M5 I get and all foreseeable BMWs will have Piano Black. Best trim IMO. I'd even take it over the M Performance carbon trim.
