BMW Tell Uk Dealers
That the new M3/4 is the most powerful M Car they have made to date , not good news for use M5 owners, and confirms ( if true ) the M3/4 is quicker.

'Powerful', in terms of output or 0-60mph or 1/4 mile time & speed.
So, when the next gen of X5M and X6M comes out next year, it is supposed to have a slightly higher output than then current M5/M6 engine. Will BMW calls it the most 'powerful' M vehicle at that time ? |

I read in a magazine that BMW stated that the M3/M4 is the fastest car that they make. However, take into consideration that the M3?4 and the M5 are out of sync. The statement will probably be rolled out for the next generation M5.

"………..because these new cars - with a quoted 0-62mph time of 4.1s (with the DCT ‘box) - are the quickest production cars BMW currently makes. Even faster than the M5 and M6. Not that BMW cares about such things. "We're not concerned [with being quicker than its 'big brothers'], we just wanted to make the quickest M3 and M4 possible."
Quotation from an article in Topgear about the new M3/4 read today in an interview with Matt Collins, production manager of BMW's small to medium cars. So I guess it is official: the M3/4 is faster! Above is from one of my previous posts on another thread. |

Guys let's keep a little perspective here. The M5 is a fast car. I am here in the uk driving a merc 180 a class diesel. A frozen gray m5 comp package drove past me today and I longed for my car. The m5 is a seriously good car. And the m3/4 will be too. Not a problem for me at all. The next m5 will step past the new m3/4, but seriously, how fast do you want your car to be ?

However the claim here was that BMW had said that the F8x was the most powerfull M yet. One thing is being quicker/faster, another thing is being the most powerfull model... Which is why I requested a source on how the actual wording was from BMW |

An F30 335d xDrive has a claimed 0-62 of 4.8s - I wouldn't be surprised if most people will be able to out perform an F10 M5 in one of those (at least on UK-type roads at normal-ish speeds). Last edited by Dionysus; 02-15-2014 at 03:07 PM.. |
