Autopom does not sell the warranty. They are just a broker. The warranty itself is by carguard which is new in the market.

While I never used them for any claim their 30 day waiting and additional 90 day waiting period to the few scattered reviews online I didn't have a good feeling about them.

I heard CNA is a good option from reading the x5/550 forums. CNA is same brand carmax sells to all its customers. I reached out to the x5 guys as they have a guy who gets them cheap pricing. I'll keep you guys updated how much they quote me.

These warranties cover almost everything... except wear and tear. Talk to your service adviser about your warranty, they will tell you how easy they are to work with.

Seems autopom/carguard don't cover many things from reading around M3post I would bet the experience would be the same for M5 owners. Too good to be true it seemed when they offered me another plan 2910 for extra 48k miles/5 years on a 13 m5 with 79k miles.

I was told by CarShield that my quote was still i able to sign up but a couple weeks ago all the "administrators" made a decision to no longer cover M5's. Not sure what yr they wont cover, but I got my 13 covered by EasyCare "total care" on december 21st. I guess it depends what yr it is.

2015 with 18k miles. I am being offered 48 months from purchase and 60,000 miles total on the car for $3391.

This is Zürich insurance company through the BMW dealer.

EDIT: Forgot to include it's $100 deductible.

This warranty covers everything unless it's noted as part of "what is not covered" which is basically stuff like wind noise, rattles, and routine maintenance items. I believe Zurich has a pretty solid reputation.
Do you still have your M5? Hoping to hear about your experience with Zurich. Thanks.

Hi Everyone, Since you all are talking about third party warranty services, well let me chip in as well as I am dealing with them currently. I bought mine recently, used of course 2013 M5. When I bought it, it had 104 some K miles and my dealer offered me Fidelity. I only bought the powertrain package 24K or two years for about 6200 some dollars. Seems high but i was so excited to get the car so did not care for the price at that time.
I only drove it to work back and forth and took it to San Francisco once. Which is like an hour drive both ways. Any how long story short, two weeks ago, i got into the car and drove it to work, heard a small clunk right when i almost got to work. i thought that it was my exhaust made the noise or something. when i was leaving work the sound was more obvious and luckily my commute is very small and by the time i got home the engine was making the noise and it was not good. It seemed to be a sound of rod bearing. I immediately made an appointment at the dealership and got it towed there and heard the bad news from my SA that engine needs to be replaced as the foreman/tech found a metal piece in oil. I gave them Fidelity information and Fidelity asked them to get my authorization to get the oil pan dropped to see what the issue is exactly. I gave them the auth and they will probably call me in a day or two to let me know. I will keep you guys posted here, i am sure you all would be interested.

Finally I heard back and FWS will cover the maximum contract value which is 30,575 and I do have to pay BMW 8K out of pocket to cover some remaining cost. Still was surprised to hear that FWS will cover this much but it is what it is. BMW will put in the reman motor and the new warranty will cover 2 years unlimited mileage. BMW will only provide the warranty on the motor and rest I may have to buy a new coverage. I will have the car back end of this month.
I asked FWS to give me the check and keep the car but they said they won't do this

Wow that's crazy expensive and you have to pay 8k as well. You can get a reman motor for about 8500 from Ghassan and had an indy put it in and been out of pocket nothing or just shipped the entire car out to Ghassan.

Yeah I would have tried it but Warranty service would pay only to Dealership and their approved shops. I asked them to give me the check as the car is not worth that much but they said sorry we cannot do that. I was like ok Have BMW fix it and they offering 2 years warranty unlimited mileage.
