Ive had quiet a few cars and with my current setup, I'm not sure there is much out there that compares. Hard to compare apples to oranges. I've test driven the E63 and I am not a fan however I do love the S63 AMG but not for 180k lol
I plan to have my first baby within the next two years, I've been thinking hard about trading to a 1500HD GMC Denali with a 6" lift. This is what I have in mind haha Just noticed this is a canyon and not the 1500. Unable to edit the picture

The Wild Card is the new Panamera which is also due out later this year. But I suspect the GTS version which competes with the M5 will be a couple of years away.

Too big and heavy
I love the M5's performance and flexibility but I do find it too big and heavy for the kind of roads I like to drive. Will be looking at an M3 CP (depending if CP has fixed the wayward rear axle) or more likely an M2 next. Basically I'm searching for a car that drives like the Z4M with 4 seats

I will probably skip the next generation M5 since I won't be ready for one yet but I might go for the generation that follows depending on how much they change then and if they will stay RWD. Might add an M3 ZCP though

M7! if they do actually release it or 760i M Sport V12 if they don't.
Why? Because I want the luxury aspect of the car, the new 7 is stunning and with either a V12 or V8 in the case of the M7 it settles all my urges. Oh and preferably with X drive! |

Funny same here and similar circumstance on the truck. Thought I was the only one. Just moved from city to the suburbs at the lake so looking at boats and family situation has changed. Lease is up in November and I'm all over the place

Thanks everyone for the input! Many opinions here! I am looking at S63 Coupe or AMG GT. I do not need a 4 seater so 2 doors will do.
Mbdurham17, my 2 friends have new x5m after M5 and they said its a whole new level! Faster 0-60, no rear wheel spin... They love it! |

I was long time M3 guy (E36, E46 and E90 M3) then got into X5M. I liked the power but it was to heavy so I thought M5 would be a good balance of power and quickness. But F10M5 comp package was still too big for my flavor. So I moved to 991 C2S.
991 C2s is amazing car but def. it's it's very focused car compare to all around car which I Can't go pick up a buddy from airport or go to lunch with 2+ coworkers. So far I'm really enjoying 991 C2S but I'll prob. get F30M3 Comp package which is reasonably priced, not too flash and does everything so well.

I am in the same boat. My M5 goes back next month. What are the thoughts on the CTS-V, I have yet to see this car in the flesh. Is it in the mainstream? Seems like a low production car. Will this hold me over til the new M5 or E63.
The X5M also looks tempting. |
