BMS Stage1 car does 11.0@128mph!

BMS S1, downpipes, upgraded tires, and race gas.

Mike, I posted this question over on N54tech: How hard is the stage 1 install on the 2014 M5? I looked at the install guide and it looks like a couple of the connectors are a little hard to reach.

Is it simply plug and play or do you also need to adjust the settings with a laptop?

Thanks

The install guide is posted on BMS' website and pretty much covers it. You need the USB cable to enter special M5/M6 settings in to the tune. The cable can also be used to datalog and make minor adjustments to the tuning if you ever want to.

I don't think you can do it with something provided from BMS but I think you can buy a separate device to monitor it... Not sure if its real time like the Cobb AP was for 335i's.

I do it all the time for customers. You use the BMS Stage1 interface. For the M5/M6 only boost in each bank can be monitored though. The logging does not include timing advance and air/fuel ratio. For those two you need to use an OBDII device.

I wish it was like the 335. Used to be able to get some data from the can tool but we all know what happened with that.

No launch control. I might try next time. This was perfect amount of traction.
When are we doing lunch?

Would a dead hook with launch shave enough to hit 10s?
