Wheel Question
I have 21 inch MPC forged wheels with michelin pilot super sports on my M5. A couple months back I was told one of my fronts was center bent and beyond repair, so I replaced it. My other front was recently leading air, so I took it in to see if it could be straigtened, and was told the lip is warped and its center bent as well.
LA roads are horrible and some potholes are just unavoidable, but I have to wonder if this would be an issue with another wheel manufacturer. I had no issues with the stock M5 rims. Thoughts? |

There's definitely a lot of variables involved. The "quality" of the wheel isn't always the issue. As you mentioned before, some pot holes are just unavoidable and the big chassis of the F10 doesn't really leave room for error.
Things to consider: - Tire profile (larger/reinforced sidewall can mean greater protection) - Suspension stiffness (assuming you're on an aftermarket solution) - Driving style - Weight load rating of the aftermarket wheel

I live in LA also I think you might be having an issue with the tires you're running first off and 2nd my personal opionion would be to get away from the 3pc becuase of the weight and work your way into a set of monoblock wheels. If you're interested in knowing more send me a PM. I am currently waiting on a set of 21" 1pc Forged wheels for my 2015 M5
