I bought the BMW 19" winter wheel/tire package that came with Pirelli sotozero. 255/45/19. They worked great. Then decided to buy an extra set of standard m5 19s and run 265/295 f/r in continental winter performance tires.

Thanks for answering so 19 is okay for winter even if there is plenty of snow? You mean 255/45/19 front and rear?

Yes and yes. I drove in a snow storm from Milwaukee to Chicago with the BMW 19" 255/45/19 square setup with no issues. I was easily passing "SUVs" with their worst-of-all-season tires. I'd could safely maintain 55-60 mph where all the AWD all-season crowd was struggling at 45 mph. Tires make the difference. Add the that the car's traction and stability control systems and the M5 has no issues with snow.

Ohh My GOD its pain in the a$$ finding winter tires for stock 20inch sizes.
I can not find any brand with sizes 265/35/20 and 295/30/20.

I want Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 in these sizes but no Luck. I heard 265/35/20 does not sell in US but I donot live in US and still can not find them

I usually try to keep the rolling diameter between the front and rear tires within 1% difference
I found it easier to find winter tires in 255/285 versus 265/295 so basically 10mm less in tire width front and rear so no issues at all
I wound up purchasing Nokian R2 in 255/285, should have them in another week

so that means 20 inch wheels can wear those 255/35/20 and 285/30/20 or better 265/35/20 and 295/30/20?

Top ones are the n-spec directional. They're designed for Porsche and have more performance characteristics. I just got them. They're awesome.
