High-milers -- share you miles and reliability experience...

So I am coming up on 29K on the M5 I picked up in October 2012 and I've can say that I have had very good reliability with nothing requiring a 'fix.'

Only standard maintenance.
1 set of tires replaced.

So the questions:

How many miles are you the 'high-miler' at?
Have you had anything fixed/replaced/broken outside of standard maintenance items.

Good thread and suppose that the F10 M5 platform is old enough now to where some of us are getting up there in miles.

34,000 miles for me.

Nothing but standard warranty and maintenance really with a few small exceptions:

- B-Pillar rattle: Fixed by dealer
- Front wheels clicking: Fixed and never came back after cleaning the wheel hubs and knuckles a few times .

That's it!

I've done about 7 oil changes so far and have have upgraded the brake fluid to something higher performing. One changes of tires at 19,000 miles with very hard driving. I suspect that my second set will last me until about 45,000 miles because I don't get to drive as hard anymore.

Getting back brakes changed today. Front brakes are due soon as well.

The F10 M5 has been very reliable for me so far. I hope it stays this way for forever. Then again I don't know how many E60 M5 owners had problems with their M5's within the first 3 years of the car being brand new.

There have been reported cases of 2006 M5's making it past 100,000 miles with no major problems and just standard maintenance.

I do wonder for any E9x M3 owners with DCT if they have ever had to replace the clutch(s) within the lifespan of the car already.

3,100 miles since beginning of January. I guess I am in the low miler category. I've got a squeak in my side bolster of the driver's seat, but that's it so far.

Only did about 18,000 miles on my E90 M3 that I had for 3 years. Had 1 problem with the A/C not blowing cold, but that was fixed quickly.

Tires changed, usual service.
had an issue with revs not idling well. there was a fault with the timing of the motor that controls the valves.

Garage List
2013 BMW M3  [0.00]
2013 BMW M5  [0.00]
27900 miles to date.

1. Steering pump replaced due to shuddering at low speed.
2. front clicking noise- replaced front left front strut and wheel bearings. clicking noise is back, need to take it in again.
3. Front rotors replaced due to vibration upon braking.
4. Rear spring/clunking noise - need to take in to dealer for fix, but debating doing competition package upgrade that would also fix that.

These have been minor issues and in no way have affected my desire or excitement driving this beast!

37000km with just 1 minor spark plug misfiring. Ended up changing all of them just in case. Cooling hose is leaking too. Planning to get it change on next oil change. Anyone knows what should be done when we hit 50k? Need to flush out transmission or engine oil or something more major?

Great thread, was thinking of asking the same thing myself.

38,500 miles but only owned it for the last 3k so can't comment on reliability other than its thirst for oil which seem a contentious subject!

Looks like I'm up at the top of the mileage stats so far - I'm hoping someone comes along and steals that crown as I'm sure we're all waiting for some big numbers and reports of no major issues

Damn, didn't think anyone would have me beat. Lol! On average I drive 24,000 miles a year between two cars.

The last owner obviously spent a lot of time in it! The mileage should drop considerably in my hands as like you, I have another car to share the load.

My plan was to keep it below about 10k miles per year but I can't stop driving it at the moment so that plans gone out of the window!

About 31.8k on my September '12 delivery... 1 set of tires. Oil pump replaced from service bulletin, but I haven't had any issues for the most part. I got one drivetrain malfunction once while cruising, but went away. The past couple days I've seen a low coolant warning, which SHOULD have been corrected by topping it off. Could too much give the same warning? Hmmm.
