Allstate Drivewise

Hey,

Has anyone had or still has the Allstate Drivewise?
Any comments on it? Pros and cons? It's apparently a tiny device that is plugged into your vehicle that tracks speed, breaking, hours of driving, etc in order to see if you qualify for further discounts.
I'd like to find out people's experience with it. Will the premium go up if you fail their performance data as a safe driver? Or is this solely to obtain additional discounts without premium increase. Any hacks?

Thanks.

When it comes to Insurance companies, always take this premise.....

INSURANCE COMPANIES NEVER DO ANYTHING THAT LOSES THEM MONEY

I've had drivewise for a while- sold as it can only save you money. They don't up your rate because you drive fast, etc...
It saved me over $200+ so far plus lots of "reward" points.
Mine runs through cell phone.

Excellent. So do i still need that device to be plugged into the car or can i do everything through the phone? I read lots of folks had electrical issues as a result of this plug in device.

What saves you money is number of years licensed, no accidents, no speeding and/or other moving violations, and multi car discounts bundled with other policies.

This isn't rocket science. IMHO I would not hook up big brother to my car. Act responsibly and you'll be rewarded with lower premiums.
