Ha you can test mine. I love it took me a while to find because the only production year was 2016 with the 3.8L flat six that in the Carrera S, and its 2900 lbs. I could only find 12 for sale in the country at time of the 800 that came to the US.

They are very rare. I don't know if you know Yogi - he's another one of the local guys round here with a 2017 Turbo S. He had a Spyder before which he traded back from the TTS.

It's even more rare than the GT4 which one of my colleagues bought mainly for track driving.

I asked Park Place about rolling my GT3 deposit over to the GT4 but he told me the waiting list for that one is just as long and currently capped!

Ha funny I don't know him but I think this was his car he sold back to Jim Ellis? Keep the GT3 position as you can pick up a GT4 use they made a ton of those.

Ha too funny .......you trade more cars in a year than I do in three years. The Porsche's are long term keepers. Also keeps me in play to get another RS if I want trade bait. Spyder was a good kept secret.

Congrats H on another great acquisition.

The manual in the Spyder/GT4 is one of the best. Only problem I found in combination with the full buckets is there's a limited seat height range where the clutch pedal feels right due to that lack of individual squab angle adjustment.

I have sold mine now, but would have kept it if it were PDK or I'd resisted spec'ing the full buckets (clearly not a 'Porsche purist').

Thx, with the RS being PDK I love to row the Spyder fun car to drive. Top stays down, and the buckets fit me well and good for my back actual as it forces proper seating position. Think I'm done on cars for awhile .....M4 goes bye bye next summer!

Congrats! I love these and wish I could get into one or a GT4.. I traded my tuned F80 for a BASE 2.7L 6mt 981 Cayman and it is so much more fun to drive, despite being down 200+ horsepower and 250+ ft./lbs. The sub-3000 lb weight is a welcome change.

Just sucks there's no cars available below the original MSRP!
You ever driven a cayman S? Car rides on rails: best car handling ever.
If you can find a slightly used Cayman GT 4 for less than 90k snatch it. Enthusiasts are keeping them for a while.

Spyder and GT4 is the same platform with the Spyder being 10hps less than the GT4. Same gearbox, and less weight minus the roof with zero electronics. Fun car will keep!

Actually Yogi's car was the exact same color scheme as yours. He traded it to a Porsche dealer in Tennessee. Probably Porsche of Chattanooga.

Where did you get yours?

Is the Spyder a lot lighter than the Boxster GTS?

I don't know yogi, and it was traded to Ellis which is where I found it. Small world. Not sure what the GTS weight ....Spyder is slightly less than 2900 pounds.
