M5 to M6
I know I posted on this awhile back but seems they still have the m6 and are wanting to deal now. To recap I have a MCB M5 with eisenmann race and all chrome removed on it. I love the car but I don't really use the back seat and I like the more aggressive look of the m6. They are willing to do 7K plus my car for a 2013 m6 in shakir orange. It has about 5K more miles and carbon fiber trim vs the aluminum trim I have. Also it is missing the night vision sensor thing but not really worried about that. What are the thoughts on this? I am torn. I really like the MCB and will want to see the shakir orange in person first. thoughts

Not sure about the financials, but Sakhir on the M6 is absolutely stunning. Best color for that car IMO.

Sakhir is definitely a hit or miss, love it or not color. If you dont plan on keeping your car and want to trade it; you will get crushed on trade in values. Its not a wanted used car color by most dealers.

I say Sakhir orange takes guts to order. I was concerned and bought it without seeing it live. Nothing, but rave reviews, and hell it's a M car with a M color. I don't buy cars for resale, but because I like them. M6 has a back seat unless you just want to lose four doors. Personal opinion keep the 5, or get a real coup light weight.

I would do it for 7k more if that's really all it is. How's my miles does it have? I wouldn't worry about resale... You aren't the only person who likes this color. I would trade for an M6 in a heartbeat if I could.

If your going to keep the car long term and the color agrees with you, do it! 7K for an upgrade to an M6 is sweet. Just make sure you like the seats and the lower stance of seating. Sakhir Orange is a nice color on the M6, saw it at the dealer in person and is commanding. Odd that when you try and photograph it, comes out more reddish so pics don't do it justice. If you are the thinking of only keeping it awhile, then like previously mentioned, it's a harder color to get rid of because it's not your "typical" white black or blue.

Humm good point on resale. Actually with MCB and blue in general it seems to be trendy right now does anyone worry about the resale on it as well?
You are right it looks red to me in almost all the pictures I have seen |

I drive an AB M5. In general, I'm not a fan of flashy colors on my sedans (Imola red being the exception). But then there is the M6. I saw the M6 at the Welt in SO with CF roof. I'm telling you, that car will turn heads. SO on the M6 looks fantastic in person. If I were to get an M6, no question I'd get it in SO. The seating, interior, weight, financial risk, etc, etc are the deciding factors. SO, definitely desirable.

ya 7k isn't too bad. remember the residual value. 53 vs 54 percent in the m5.
given what they're offering you, seems there's more of a market for the m5
