+1. Limiter is still there. It could be taken off but BMW will then for sure know you're running a tune. The risk is not worth the reward for me.

I'm just waiting to hear from hunter how the tune is doing I'd love to pick up more power but unlike cobb/jb4 where you can just take it off and shrug your shoulders I'm worried lots of logging is going on and if I brick it #VOID

My m5 is also 2014, and they didn't told me anything about this.
I will call them again tomorrow since they already charge my credit card.
I will come back with the info.

Why would you order this when there's no true tune out yet? It won't get rid if the speed limiter or unleash the full potential of our cars. Just curious that's all. When these companies finally come out w one I know many will jump on it.

The people at eurocharged promise me this:
The dealer will not be able to tell you have a tune on it. Our flash is a rewrite of the stock software and is not a piggy back chip.
They are a very serious company. So this is why.

All tunes said that bro... Honestly we've got a couple threads going on the debate of tunes and detection, these tuners can't even crack the speed limiter and the cars been out since what? Late 2011? Why would I trust that they "know" for a fact the car isn't logging perimeters that would be easily identifiable if you bricked a 40K+ engine to BMWHQ... If you snap a rod and blow the engine they WILL look into it lol.

Point being I'm personally not willing to risk it on account of someones word trying to sell a tune, but as hunter pointed out to me they ARE able to make a backup of the ecu and reflash it to stock which again unless we have some perimeters that nobody knows about that will royally screw the first person who has issues (without getting a warranty from someone like dinan) thats the safest bet one can make and one I'm willing to dip my foot in the pool for.

54whp is a small gain but noticeable bump. I had the dinan stage 1 on my 335i when I was butt scared of modding, and honestly that was noticeable (and I think the same price as the eurocharge at the time).

I just got an email said within 2 weeks they're expecting the 2014s to be done and will honor the sale price for me locally.

Thats the thing they can't lol.. Best bet reflash ecu to stock file like the cobb ap does for the 335i, and even that can get messed up if something goes wrong with your file like it did on mine one time [it will then default to a base stock map based on your ecu code which could be evidence enough that things while stock and no signs of tampering aren't exactly how they left the factory].

I'm just upset we've got no real options and now as a 2014 owner I have even less

If there are true dyno numbers before and after lets see them. Without this, its a waste of money. Been down this road before..

I would get a before and after dyno included form where I would get it installed. So I'd have posted it up if I hadn't been told to wait two weeks.

I'm getting a dyno Monday. On my thread you can see the stage 1 dyno I did but it wasn't designed for my intakes and Dp's. Monday I'm going to AMS which was the same place I did the stage 1 tune and I will have a comparison of the two. I posted the stage 1 chart in my thread

Went to the track today and did 3 runs. Weather was a crisp 45-50 degrees with a chilly wind blowing at 15-20mph. I had my 21's on and my PSI was stock which is not ideal but I wanted to run it like I drive it. Even though I did burnouts before each run the temp and 15-20mph winds cooled the tires off pretty quickly so there was a little spinning. As you can see from the 60ft times they aren't great so there is a ton of room for improvement. Mind you I'm on 21's too. So considering all this if it was a little warmer out or not so windy and my tires were softer I can easily get the 60ft in the 1.60-1.80 range and the car will easily do 11.40's all day and could possibly go 10.90's-11.30's with less tire pressure or even smaller diameter wheels and slightly warmer temps for better grip. Also a thing to note is that I didn't boost the car at the start....the car has a slight delay after I floor it which affects the 60ft time do to the slight roll that happens that triggers the clock then the power kicks in. So if I boosted the turbos a little by holding the brake for 2 seconds and juice the throttle a bit then letting go of the brake I believe this car can go 10'90's-11.30's. I might even try launch control just to see. I had full traction off everything maxed out with the suspension in comfort. All I did was floor it. No tricks. Here you go. Check out the trap speeds and 60ft times and you will understand the potential. I'm always in the left lane. Feel free to add your slips, info and experiences at the track.

Couple other Nuts

Here is the stage 1 tune up top I did in august and the stage 2 run I did today. Blue and red runs on bottom are today's runs. Sent Eurocharged this and they think something isn't right. Asked me to get all the DRF files from today's run. I'm waiting to see if that is possible.

Hunter what do they think is wrong? And are you noticing it other then the obvious torque drop off in every gear.

The car is run on one gear so there isn't a drop after every gear. I will speak to jerry and get more details and report back.
