I'll prob. dump it, depending on what Porsche does with the upcoming GT3 RS. Prob. buy something cheap and used as DD.

I am noticing a trend in this forum and M3 forum that people are hoping to get into a 911 GT3 / GT3 RS once they are done with their M's (some have already put their deposit down and the projected delivery date is well into late 2014, at least that's for the GT3).

I also have that thought, although it's way too early for me to aim at this car, I will see what is out there when the time comes.

I've been surfing the rennlist boards lately and there's a good amount of previous M owners on the board.

My last car was an E60 M5 and I had no plans to sell that one after selling my E39 before that. Unfortunately, it got totaled.

If I had the financial might, I would have kept every M5 I ever owned. It is indeed the Ultimate Driving Machine for daily use.

Some time down the future, if I can, I plan on acquiring one of each model ever produced. E28, E34, E39, E60 and hopefully an F10.

Whats the definition of keeper here? Some guys are saying yes its a keeper, but keeping it for 3-4 years. I assumed keeper meant for like ten years or forever...

Lol that's why I went back and edited my answer. I think "keeper" was meant to imply a long-term hold, I didn't get that at first.

what I meant by keeper is not 3-4 years but indefinitely. like when you find that one woman/man/sheep that you will settle down with. yes of course someone younger, newer with more gadgets will be out there, but at some point some of us make a deliberate decision that we have found what we need and will devote our time, energy and money to other life pursuits. that's what I mean by keeper.

that said, consider me penciled in for euro delivery in 2016 bros.

What you mentioned about technology I agree. Currently BMW is leading in the car technology space.

Then I saw the new 2014 S Class. Talk about an entirely new level, and a complete step up. I own a 2013 S63 and have my F10 M5 coming this month. I always thought the AMG was outdated. The new S Class is extremely impressive... hot stone massage seats, Burmester sound system, HVAC that purifies and then scents the air with perfume (changeable in the glove box), heated armrest, two 12 inch screens.. one for speed/rpm/dash functions and the other next to it for their all new car computing system.

Anyways the point is that 2014/2015 will be a great year for cars and you can never expect what AMG, M, Porsche will bring in the coming years. Merc blew me away with their 2014 S Class.. which will make an awesome 2014 S63 AMG and hopefully they will make the S65 again. This car is in a whole separate class from M (I consider my AMG to be a completely different animal than M).

Check it out.. you never know, can't underestimate.

Great car but not a keeper for me. Contrast this car with my 1M, which is a keeper to me. Pending increasing storage issues I am gradually adding to the collection but for the most part the sedans I have owned have been rotated through at 3 yr intervals...(kept E39 M5 for 8 years) Problem for me is that now I am looking for any excuse for Euro delivery.

Hell no. Keepers are game changers like 911 Carrera RS or the first M3. Cars that were built to fulfill a racing homologation requirement or the other end of the spectrum, beaters that will never die like a Tacoma pickup, Honda Accord etc. Everything else in between....meh
