Removing masking tape residue
hello all. I had to tape off the front end from the long drive and with my luck it poured the last few hours of the ride. Long story short, the masking tape got wet and it didnt come off cleanly. I was hoping there is a quick way of getting the stick residue out. I have the adhesive remover spray from 3M but i felt this is a tedious process. I also tried polishing it out and it worked but i feel there are some areas that the adhesive just gets swirled around.
Ideally, Id like to get the adhesive off, then polish it. any tips are appreciated. thanks! |

Try some alcohol wipes. The kind they use to decon the car after polishing. Removes the polishing/compounding residue. May work for the adhesive.

Rapid Remover
There is a product I use to remove badges & vehicle wraps call Rapid Remover. It one of the fastest and easiest to use adhesive removers on the market.(60 seconds) Spray on and wipe off.

Try goo gone! I bought wheels a while back that was plasti-dipped and just soaked them in goo gone, waited a half hour and the plasti-dip came off with a single wipe. Should be the same with any adhesive residue.

Alcohol would be best, but 3M spray adhesive remover for the tough stuff.
