Color decision ..

Obviously to each his own, but curious to see read some opinions.

2014 M6 coupe - Alpine white with Sakhir Orange, Black Sapphire Metallic with Silverstone II - as of now those are my main choices. What color combo would you order your M6 and why?

If its an M6 then San Marino Blue.

Black and White are suitable colors for any other car. I believe they are the two best selling colors on the Toyota Camry. That is not a parallel I could abide.

Black and white are the most popular colors on just about every car, Camry or not.

San Marino Blue is one of the best looking colors I've seen on any car, so most likely I'd order that with Silverstone leather. If not that, Black Sapphire with Sakhir Orange. I'd stick with the 19's though, personally I like the multi-spoke design more than the 20's.

One of the reasons why I chose Signapore Grey over Black Sapphire metallic, aside from liking how it looks, is that SG is only offered in the M5 or M6, whereas BSM is offered in many other BMW's. SG also matches the carbon fiber roof very well. Similarly, one of the reasons I have a carbon fiber interior is that this too is only offered in the M5 or M6, besides being the sportiest interior by carrying over the roof theme into the car, and I got the full black interior since I thought it matched best with the carbon fiber. Another advantage of the black interior is that it matches the headliner without any further costs, and IMO, it hides wear and dirt better than a lighter interior.

+1000. SO with blk full leather and B&O (for the aluminum grill accents). I saw this on display at BMW Welt. Best looking M6 I've seen. It's flashy but it fits the M6 so well with the CF roof. I thought about SO for my M5 but went in a different direction and chose Azurite Blk.

My unbiased opinion is White with Orange interior. White compliments the CF roof nicely.

With San Marino, I prefer the Opal White Individual Merino Leather. It looks sharper than the light gray silverstone leather, and the black and white contrast stitching on the Individual interiors is fantastic.

Plus what could be more BMW than blue and white.

Very true, but wouldn't the white leather show wear and dirt far easier than any other color? However I agree with you in that it is a stunning interior.

Well the dirt has to come from somewhere. I would imagine this is not an issue unless the owner is dirty. Personally I wear clean clothes, I have clean hands, and I have clean passengers, I am a performance driver so I'm not drinking a coffee or eating a burger at the wheel. I don't think it's an issue. I have almost white leather right now.

White leather will be prone to color transfer from jeans, but its easily remedied with leather cleaning. Mr Clean Magic Eraser will even do the trick.

Again, if u like something, get it. Dont not get it because youre aftaid to get it dirty. My biggest regret was not getting Imola Red leather 12 years ago when I got my M3 because prople said it would hurt resale value, had regret for four years of ownership and im finally getting closure now with Sakhir Orange leather.

I agree with Stealth, take care of it and youll be good.

FYI -- If you live in NYC, your car is parked by garage attendants, so no matter how clean you might be, dirt can get tracked into one's car. Just the other day, the inside of my steering wheel got scuffed, and it was not my doing. And I find it hard to imagine that you act with as the dirt police for anyone getting into your car.

Yep. NYC is a cess pit when it comes to cars.

But these issues don't exist in South Florida. My cars stay spotless, and I have a detailer who catches any marks and cleans them up every week.

You don't need to act as dirt police - because most people are careful inside a clean car. One of my clients describing his ride in my car said that the interior was so immaculate he was afraid of touching anything. Sums it up pretty well.

And the roads are terrible! Construction, plates on the streets, pot holes, open fire hydrants in the summer, water dripping from above, stuff on the road, pedestrians not paying attention, empty cabs looking for a fare, unused bike lanes that narrow the street, etc. Not car friendly, and I am fighting an uphill battle just to keep my car free of dings, dents, or damage. But it is an exciting place to live. That's nice that you can keep your carso immaculate. But not much is more thrilling than going 100+ mph on the FDR Drive, sort of like the chase in the woods from Star Wars.

Totally agree - I work in the World Financial Center, but because I love cars, Ive never wanted to live in NYC. I live right on the Hudson across from midtown instead. Funny thing is when I give anyone a ride to Boston or CT, I refuse to drive them into the city and drop them at the ferry.

I'm afraid to even ask what you pay to park in Manhattan - I've heard people paying as much as $800 monthly.

I keep my car clean just like everybody else, but it can be a hassle between valets and passengers on the inside and weather on the outside. Never having had a car with white (or near white) leather, it's good to hear it's not as nightmarish as I'd thought.

Valets and DCT are a whole other issue.

We have something equivalent in Miami. The MacArthur Causeway.

And just like with the FDR it's more thrilling at night.
