Power of Attorney

Does anyone know if you can send someone to pick up your ED?

I can't go but the discount is so good I'm thinking of sending an employee.

Can another person take delivery with power of attorney?

Thanks

D

Interesting question. BMW NA should be able to answer it or talk to BMW AG for you if necessary. Make sure you let that employee enjoy his/her time in Munich for a bit rather than taking two very long flights back to back -- though of course one of the perks need not be your car!!

FYI though have you thought about sending a friend instead? If I were you I'd feel awkward asking one of my reports to do this, or to be asked by my boss. A friend would probably be cheaper too; if you paid their airfare and at least part of their lodging they probably wouldn't hit you with an expense report for everything else.

The employee is a lifelong friend and would only go if he wanted to. Not by work order. He is more like a partner and doesn't have a 15 month old like me.

More like subsidizing his European vacation

No you can't let someone else pick up for you, has to be yourself, period!

I don't think so, but if you are titling the car to your company (like I do) then you can put anyone's name on the purchase order instead of your own.

I think you can or at least you used to be able to. When I did before it there was a couple picking up 2 cars. One for them and one for someone else. Minor detail the women did not drive a stick too well and crashed the brand new 5 series at the delivery ctr!! Thought she was in reverse and lurched forward into a pole. Ouch.
