While I'm not so sure about 577 @ the wheels bone stock, anywhere from 520-550whp seems reasonable. What is even more surprising is that despite having this much power, a 997.2 Turbo pulled hard on me. Probably the first car I've lost to on the highway

Then you'll definitely want to avoid the 997 Turbo S. A friend of mine ran a 10.9 at the dragstrip their FIRST TIME OUT on STOCK TIRES! Unbelievable.

Doesn't sound right for a stock P-Car but they do have the best Launch Control out there. Based on the track times turned in so far, I think the crank HP should be pretty close to 640 to 650 hp. The best ET for a stock M Car should come down to 11.45 or so. My best estimation based on all that is out there.

Yeah, well wait for Dinan to produce a tune and remove the speed limiter, that will be worth the $5000 it will no doubt cost.

Not sure it will be worth it. US roads don't have good enough tarmac to go above 168mph (the current limit on the car), and the car doesn't have enough traction below 100mph to use more power.

To me the only benefit of tuning the car would be bragging rights, and I don't need those.

I've been over 200mph on American roads and not at the track either. They are good enough for it, trust me. Lol!

Not sure what kind of roads you are talking about. I guess if you have driven on all the roads in the US you might be able to make such a broad statement but I don't think you have. I own a piece of property that has about 1 mile frontage on both sides of I-45 north of Huntsville, Texas. There is a service road that runs on the east side, north-south parallel to the interstate. It dips about 15 feet below the interstate just north of my property. At this point they have paved the road for the next three miles to where it rises back up level with the interstate. There is no access to the road, it is clear on both sides and completely straight. I got my 535 up to 147 and climbing on that stretch before I shut it down. I had plenty of room to run it up and stop it smoothly. I think this car could get 180 on that stretch if it wasn't limited. I will try the 168 first to see. I am going out there next week to cruise some timber so I will make time to get over there and test at least the quarter mile with the M5. Don't know how I will time it properly though.

I suppose the Florida Turnpike is equally good, although you have to go really far from civilization before traffic didn't prevent you from reaching that speed. I would probably have to drive 7 hours to get to some road where traffic allowed me to get to 180-200mph. And the race tracks around here don't have long enough straights to go beyond 140.

FYI, the M6 in One Lap hit 180 at Daytona. Mike Renner mentioned it did have an after market de-limitter to hit that.

Interesting, unfortunately a bit far to be a readily accessible circuit for me.

I could probably do it if I could get access to the full oval at Homestead, but I have never seen that offered. Have only driven the infield track.
