My 2016 Deal

MSRP: 109250.

Negotiated Price?: 91150

Leased for 1200/month nothing down, taxes rolled in.

Did I do good? Seems as if others are doing better.

The sale price is good but the monthly doesn't add up. Did you trade in any car with negative equity?

Also dealer had processing fee rolled in. Money Factor was marked up slightly. Car was used with new car rates. Also my state includes 6% tax which was rolled in.

Price seems good but payment doesn't match up with cap cost.

Even after the fees rolled and MF marked up slightly, the pmt still doesn't add up. Can you provide the full breakdown?

1200 monthly with this MSRP and sales price means something like 56% Residual (which is too low) and 0.0016 MF ( which is too high) + $2000 (Acquisition fee + registration + other fees) with respect to 6% state tax
How many miles per year you have on this lease?

In my state they charge tax on purchase price not depreciation for leases.

36 months 10k miles. Are you looking at residuals for 2016? Money factor was def marked up. My cap cost was 97k with taxes, approx 5.5k. I will provide accurate numbers shortly.

16.5% discount is great, and 60% Residual is fair.
MF 0.0017 is a little high... It must be 0.0013 so you are paying ~$65 more (monthly)
The rest (~7.5k) for all fees looks right; however the issue is like you said in your state you have to pay tax for entire sales price and not for depreciation ...

So taxes aside which I can't avoid. The price is fairly good even with a marked up money factor? I am sure I could have negotiated money factor down.

Yes it's a good deal... could be better if you negotiate on MF

You mentioned it's slightly used. How many miles on the car?

Was it sold as used or new? It's a good sale price (outside of least details that I have no idea about) for a new sale but not for the used sale.

Great deal

Wow. Lease doesn't add up, just finance it. But over 16 percent off MSRP is a killer deal for a new car. That's almost the first year depreciation.

lol yeah right you wish it was only 16% one year and 15k miles puts just about any m5 into the high 70s LOW LOW LOW best case scenario possible 80s.

I'd say first year m5/m6 depreciation is 24-35% depending on state, and how easy it is for them to give the cars away. My car was being clamored for in Connecticut guy paid full asking from the dealer... But I couldn't give the thing away locally.

Frankly this is why as many M's as I'd buy new, I'll never do it again. The company structure rereading sales, does nothing when buying a premium car from them.

http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/de...32/overview/#1

example thats one in Beverly Hills a 2015 with 13.3k miles for 83,992 and its fairly loaded with B&O, black wheels, etc. Dealer is already letting us know they likely paid 72-78k for that vehicle lol

Or take the other 2015 M5 with 20,000 miles exec and wheels at an MSRP of 102k... Even if that original buyer got 8% off with a price of like 93k they're only trying to get 76k for the car lmao... So even if original buyer got that full 76k he's lost 18% [which he's lucky if he got 72k for it honestly lmao]

M depreciation literally is as bad in-terms of percentages as McLaren lmao, but again its the same reason why so few can justify a porsche lease or finance vs. BMW where they'll get you a coffee and donut while you politely ask to have 8-10% off the car, then give you a smoking rate... It kills anyone planing to not keep the car for 100 years, or planning on dumping it based on recurring leases.

I can't disagree. I bought a 2014 with MSRP of $119k, and after not even two years went back to same dealer to trade for a new M5 and they offered me $62k for my car which is almost new with 5,100 miles. Extreme depreciation.

That's not extreme depreciation. That's just the dealer ripping you off.

When I sold my 2013 M5, I sold it privately and I beat the dealer trade-in by $18,000. So that's the amount by which they try to rip you off.

Damn, my 2013 ED with discounts was 93k and I got 60k for my 2013 with 14k miles on it. Think they low balled you big time. ED is the best to buy this cars! BMW is the only dealer I know of the does ED discounts .........Porsche laughed when I asked ..........well I knew the answer.

I traded mine in with 19,900 B&O, Exec, DAP, Wheels, smartphone and got 77k trading in. I believe they sold it for 83-85k to the dealer in Connecticut I think someone was dying for that color car and mine was one of the few available at the the time.

I think they sat on the car for like 4-5 months and marked it down twice... Personally I'm not sure I'd have had the stomach to sit on the car and grind out a sale for an extra 6-8k especially since unlike your cars which usually are unique with individual styling and low milage. Mine are the opposite HIGH miles, EXTREME use most of the time they don't even have a way to estimate the worth off of the auction sites because I'm trading in such new cars with such high miles

I know some people just have stigma's about used cars and that'll never change. Personally for a car like a McLaren, M, AMG, etc. I'd rather let someone else eat that initial hit because in most cases like with the DCT now vs. the SMG/V10 combo the cars are SOOOO reliable in a majority of cases that its become somewhat senseless to think they wouldn't be reliable.
