Valentine 1 Radar Hardwire-not off sunroof
I plan on hard wiring my Valentine 1 radar detector after work today. I need to stop by the auto part store to pick up a fuse tap kit. There is a nice write up in the DIY section on tapping it off the sun-roof; however, I want to see if there is a way to tap it off one of the fuses in the glove dept. I have done this successfully in the F01 750 and in the e92 m3.
Can you advise which fuse I can work off of? The car is fully loaded except for night vision and rear entertainment. Thanks guys |

I do know it's possible to tap a fuse in the glove.
I would recommend using the sunroof though. Less wiring to route / seems like a cleaner install option?

As mentioned above, it's very easy to remove the light housing.

Running a power cable from the fuse box up to the V1 would be much more of a challenge as that A pillar has an airbag. Also would hate for you to ruin that alcantara!

54 or 48. 54 (bigger fuse) turns off in about 10 minutes, 48 (small size fuse) goes off immediately. Have 1 hooked up to my bel stir+ and the other to LI.
Just use 2 - 5 amp fuses, cause those taps are not suppose to go any higher. 54 is a 20, 48 is a 5 |

I hooked up a dash cam and V1 to the rearview mirror. You don't have to pull any panels. Super easy:

Yeah you did it right, you just need to have both fuse sockets filled because otherwise one of the two circuits won't work. If both sockets have fuses in them should work
