I would run away from the M5 personally. No way I would touch a high performance car that was a rental. Although logically I know there is no real way to hurt the car mechanically with DCT etc I also know that it was not treated well.
At a minimum I would pull a report showing type 1 over revs and how many launches the car has been through. Macan is cool looking, but if you want a sports sedan it is not going to cut it long term. BTW don't think for a second the M5 is a sports car. A very fast luxury touring car, but the M3 is going to be way more fun to drive and even it doesn't really meet my personal criteria. Better, but still too heavy. Better option is to lease a new M5 or buy a new M3. |

Do not get a rented M5. I don't care about the warranty. You have to realize that the rented M5 was driven like stink the minute it went out. Who knows what maintenance was done to it during the rental time. I would say probably none. If you can get a different M5 that had one owner who took care of it, then I would look into that just for the luxury factor that you want. I'm 6'2" and have two tall boys one is 6'3" and the other 6' and we have no problem with the interior of my awesome SSII M3. Of course this is an M5 forum, but i suggest you look at the M3.

I have both an E60 M5 and a 2015 M3. If I had to choose ONE car I would choose an M5 (even an E60). The interior quality difference is HUGE as you know. The M5 is my "business" car and daily driver and the M3 is my fun car.
What car makes you happier? That's the real question. |
