Downshifting
Can someone possibly explain to me why sometimes when I use the paddle shifting and I down shift the car immediately shifts down and revs higher but other times when I down shift there is a delayed reaction of a couple secs before the gear drops???? It's baffling me.

I believe that's just the nature of the beast? The computer just lags sometimes I guess. It's happened to me also.
It's just not as refined as Porsche's PDK. |

It depends which gear the transmission is predicting you will change to next. If you're in 3rd and it has 4th waiting on the other clutch, then you change to 2nd it will have to change the gears before switching clutches, this takes a little longer.
If the gearbox predicts you'll change to 2nd and you do then its instant. The gearbox predicts this by using various different inputs from the vehicle, speed and load etc. |

When I first got my car the DCT felt strange but once I got used to how it behaves I feel like it's nearly PERFECT. I love how I can play with the accelerator and paddles to make it nearly drive like a manual or I can just chill and let it take control like a full auto, plus the fact that I can let off the brake at a light (on level ground) is really cool. Nothing like just hovering over the accelerator ready to hit "go" when the light turns green. I've had similar experience as you using the paddles and I appreciate the clear explanation...
