Is anyone running the Eisenmann Sport 90mm?
I am considering this exhaust. I have some questions though:
1) how does it look? 2) how does it sound inside the cabin? Can you hear a noticeable increase in volume or is it just a change in tone? Can anyone verify if there is a difference in sound between the Sport 90mm and Sport 102mm?

1) Pipe diameter is the perfect size for M5 F10. Bigger than stock and look very proportional. Any larger diameter will look like Kim Kardashian's ass. 2) There is some cabin sound when windows are up and driving in normal mode. I found it to be a very welcome 'side effect' so that I could actually hear my car sometimes. If you drive slowly and steadily there's almost no difference. 3) In 'Sport Plus' mode the volume becomes louder and can be easily heard from far away. It becomes louder, more pleasant to ears. Tone does not change. Some notes for you to consider:
Overall very satisfied. The size and sound are perfect for someone who chooses an M5. Loud and aggressive enough when you need it, and quiet when you're driving home in peace. What I like the most is that the sound can be heard from very far way, is very pleasing to the ears but paradoxically not too loud. It has a lot of bass, tunes and refinement but is never too much. The best example I can give: M5 F10 (Eisenmann Sport) - distance and sound loudness. 1 meter: 100% sound. Music to your ears. 100 meters: 90% sound. Music to your ears. 500 meters: 50% sound. Music to your ears. 1000 meters: 30% sound. I can hear a sports car somewhere! M5 E60 (Eisenmann) 1 meter: 100% sound. Annoyingly loud. 100 meters: 80% sound. Unpleasantly loud. 500 meters: 40% sound. Music to your ears. 1000 meters: 20% sound. What's that interesting sound? Last edited by singularity; 12-13-2012 at 09:09 PM.. |

Is your exhaust the full exhaust or just the slip on? Also do you still have the burble on the downshifts?

Full exhaust, except manifold (which doesn't exist for M5 F10). Middle section is Race. I edited my main reply about downshifts and added some more tips. Downshift sound is there, and if anything it's louder. The only thing you will lose is the 'fart' sound.

Singularity - awesome write up. Really helpful info. Sad about the farts...I've grown to love them, but want an aftermarket exhaust.

I'm not familiar with the fart sound. I will look out for it. I do notice a burble on downshifts, but it isn't a very strong burble.

I don't recall any noticeable downshift sounds on M5 F10, especially compared to M5 E60's. |

Unfortunately not. Because of Steering failure during snow training. Tried a slalom on a snow course and now it's sitting in the garage with a failed steering. If you wanted to see the diameter of tail pipes I assure you they're the best size for this car stock are too small and 102mm are 'look at me' cheap looking.
To explain how it looks to a third person in the street: Stock will look like "This car has small tail pipes" 90mm will look like "The car is proportional. Nothing stands out" 102mm will look like "This guy bought himself some aftermarket exhaust" |

More like "go with a taste, proportions and aesthetics" not buying the "bigger the better" sorry. No offense intended of course, most important is how you like your car I don't want mine to be an attention drawer but to each his own.

LOL just messing around. I think they all look great, Can't go wrong with either. 90mm is definitely more stealthy when I hear it it definitely make me think Does that have exhaust? It's not as the rear already grabs many peoples attention.
When I get exhaust Im def going 102mm. |
