Mystery Box Found in Trunk

Hey everybody I’m new to the forum here. Just bought 2016 M5 a few weeks ago. Last night I was adding in sub and amp in the trunk and when I pulled the side panel off to access the factory amp I found this box. It’s obviously not stock and most have been installed by previous owner. I can’t find any markings on it. The plug pictured is what it’s plugged into and just runs a loop out of that plug through the box and back in. Does anybody know what that plug is? Thanks in advance for any help.

It looks like an Exhaustmeister

It controls the exhaust flaps by remote, does it tee into the black connector with the red wire going in?

If so then its the above

yep, that's it, thanks. Unfortunately the remote wasn't in the car so I can't use it. Oh well

You could try contacting the company to see if you can buy just the remote.

Yes I have my exhaustmeister linked right to my garage door opener. Button 2 Flaps open and Button 3 Flaps closed. One of the best and cheapest mods I did.

Wouldn't I need a remote to program it to the opener in the car?

If it was I wiped it when I programmed my garage doors to it. Good thought though.
