Best Radar Detector??

Thinking of pulling the trigger on the Valentine 1 or the escort 360.

Anyone used them side by side, or have any other recommendations?..

I want to make sure I'm not catching any tickets from the police in Mexico...

Thank you

As a standalone plug in type those are the best. I have the Valentine and it works for me.
There are much better systems with radar, gps, jammers, etc but they are hard mount installed.

I used to love my V1 but not so much anymore. Too many false alarms even after I sent it back for upgrades.

I was thinking long and hard about the Escort 360, it is a jack of all trades, master of none based on all the reading up I did. I would have chosen that one, but for my driving and needs (mostly highway, need range above all else) I chose the Redline.

I own the Escort 360 and it's a pretty intuitive radar in that it learns and locks out falses; with that said, the BSM falses from GM and Acuras is a pain in the ....

I have had the V1 since 1998 and it's been great. I upgraded it and hoped it would solve all the false alerts. It didn't, way to many proximity devices everywhere. A friend subscribes to a radar forum and he loaded custom tune to it and it is great again My boys have the 360 and say it's very good, they went from the passport 9500 and say it's a big improvement.

Escort Redline is a good one, but it doesn't have GPS built in.

I'm a month and half into a 360 after 5 years with a Escort 9500ix. The arrows are nice on the 360 but there is a slight delays when the signal moves from front to side to back. It's pretty quiet and fast especially on KA bands. I've gotten some false lasers occasionally and as someone else stated, the blind spot systems from GM and Acura/Honda drive it bananas, but all new detectors have that issue. I researched the crap out of these before I went 360. V1 is good if you run a a companion app on your phone to give it some intelligence.

I'm happy with mine; I use with Waze and it works very well. The Escort Live app is not as good as Waze IMO; I run the EL app in the background to be able to benefit from it's features.

I use a Blendmount and had it hardwired; clean looking setup.

Let me know if you have any question in regards to the set-up or any questions.

I've used V1 for many years and it's been very good for me. But I've never tried the 360.

Probably can't go wrong with either one.

I've had my V1 for 7 years, still works great, never upgraded. I set mine to Ka/laser only, so not much noise, but if you're in California that's all the CHP use.

Escort 360 has very poor ability to filter active cruise control and blind spot monitoring.

If you are serious about driving an M5 on public roads you need both laser jammers and radar. My Antilaser Net Radar setup is the best you can get right now.

The new Uniden DFR7 out performs most of the higher dollar units and does a good job of filtering out blind spot monitoring from newer cars.

Blind leading the blind on this thread.

Max 360, K40, Blinder? Seriously?

Are you guys looking to install something in a Corolla?

Some recent test results just to show how good range is on Max360. It's not bad, but its not the best, nor is it the best at its price point.

Keep in mind the long range defectors in the above test do have longer ranges, but they lack some of the features of the 360 like GPS filtering or directional arrows or forward and rear facing radar horns. For all highway driving, the Redline is hands down one of the best but if you do any city driving, it will be so noisy, you'll probably shut it off. The RDForum is a great resource as was stated above. I think the 360 is the best blend of features and performance. The v1 with a matching app is also a good option but if you want plug and play, the 360 appears to be the one to beat.

passport max and dfr7
Seem to be the ideal systems since I do mainly city driving, weekend canyon runs and sometimes on the "streets of Mexico"...
