2014 CP Price Check, Also.. hate you guys

I'm going to check this out tomorrow..

http://www.akronautomall.com/detail-...-16261252.html

They aren't budging on price. What do you guys think?

Also hate you guys.. Been looking around the forums and I've passed up 2013s to spend ~5-8k more for a 2014 CP.

Only until December. I'm going to buy a third party warranty from the dealer.

I think extending it from BMW itself is only 2 more years, which I don't think is enough.

Good idea on the 3rd party warranty; you don't want to own these cars w/o some kind of protection. You may be able to extend 2 years via BMW and then go 3rd Party later depending on the cost.

Good luck and enjoy the car!

the CP is NOT worth 5k-8k more. It's miniscule, and an overpriced option from factory.

This is coming from someone who has it as well.

Understood. But from what I'm reading lurking around the forums it seems like a 2014 is worth the 5k difference to an equivalent 2013 maybe. And that's the difference between my options here. The CP is definitely a bonus though!

Good deal from my estimation. the ones I've seen are at that price or more and with out CP.
Also make sure your 3rd party warranty is an exclusionary policy not inclusionary. Unless of course you know in advance what will fail

Looking around here I might decline the warranty from this place and take it to my local BMW dealership to see if they'll sell me one since this has the manufacture warranty still until December. I emailed Troy from Fidelity which I've seen around here the folks have been recommending as well.

I've heard fidelity is good but to get exclusionary you must get the top of the line platinum package if I recall. you would have probably already been getting that one anyway.

Exclusionary warranties are important because you get to see what's NOT covered or what's excluded. So do the research Into the issues that come up on a high mileage m5 and make sure those aren't excluded. Make sure you tell me what those are too thankfully I don't think there are many, it's a pretty damn robust engine and overall proven chassis.

Also find out what the warranty company considers "wear and tear" because it won't be covered and sometimes what's not covered can vary wildly between warranties.

Yikes, just noticed you bought this from AkronAutoMall/NorthcoastAuto..I used to live in Cleveland and know that dealership well, they are a bunch of scammers..they take rebuilt/salvage title cars and have a way to move the title around to remove the r/s title status. That is the reason their prices are so much cheaper than similarly priced cars from legitimate dealerships. Hope you have good luck with it and if you do find something wrong with the car down the line, do some research on the dealer and you may be able to take them to court. Their prices are too good to be true on a lot of their cars, and had a few buddies get f-ed over by them and the cars the bought from them.

Yeah the dealership and the people there did seem very shady.. The price was good but it didn't seem too good to be true IMO. Looking at the CarFax, I know you said they fanangle their ways around salvage titles, but it looks pretty clean. 1 owner had a lease and then it was auctioned over to these guys. At least it's still under factory BMW warranty and I'm meeting with the finance guy at the BMW dealership soon to setup an extended warranty on this thing. I had them run the VIN as well and they said it's eligible.

Just rims, steering , suspension and exhaust/tips worth the cost

I am starting to feel that but I have no frame of reference from non-CP... I traded in my F80 M3 so that's my frame of reference and provided the weight, I am surprised everyday how well this thing handles. I went around a curve way too fast yesterday and it felt possibly more planted than my m3 did.

I just might have to do a track day soon...

Yes, DO A TRACK DAY! No better way to learn the car. There is an event at Mid Ohio in a couple of weeks. There are! already 2 M5s registered!
