you're a hater, whether you like it or not. The CTS-V is a beast in power AND handling.

Your math is wrong. 1870kg = 4114 pounds, 1945 kg = 4279 pounds

Having a constant peak power is not good. You want ever increasing power all the way to redline. Look how the torque falls down after ~5750rpm..

S65 hits its HP peak at 8300rpm, and redline at 8400rpm.. I'm not following the drop you're mentioning..

I assumed 1lb = 0.45kg... If you wanna be more preciese, you're wrong as well

1 lb = 0.45359237 kg

1870kg = 4122.64430286lbs
1945kg = 4287.9909995lbs

It is kinda funny though, it is such a heavy car, you really need to get enough digits to get it right

Kg is usually the KG times 2.2. hence your math was WAY off when mine was closer LOL.

Has anyone else noticed that the M5 WILL NOT be using Electrinc Assist Power Steering? It is noted in the Specs as Hydrualic Power steering :-)

Very impressive and available power band, 501 lb-ft of torque will pull like a train at 1500 rpm, this is a massive improvement over the v10's 371 lb-ft. The HP figures are however are little surprising, only 560, that is little to no more than the X5/X6 and this is supposed to be the flagship //M model. The shocker would be if this car dyno'd close 560 rwhp, which would be more proper for a car of this level. That 0-60 time must also be traction limited as well, it does not seem that fast for a car with this much power and such a seemingly advanced launch control system. I think we will know way more once this thing is independently tested down a 1/4 Mile track, I am very curious to see what it traps and the '60 times it can put down. I think the power numbers will be surprise everyone as well once this thing is put on a proper dyno and the tuners get their hands on this vehicle. I can see 700hp at the crank easily.

Only cons I can see here are typical BMW issues; weight, weight and more weight, if I was president of //M division, this is what I would focus on more than anything and try using more lightweight materials.

Oh, so by more hp than the X5/6M, they mean just 5 more. Got it.

4300 lb sports car, come on.

I think it is gonna be better than the last M5 but too fat for anything revolutionary.

Just an evolution.

Plenty of 550 owners already have a porkchop. This is the same porkchop with more power.

BMW needs to get fitter, lose the fat and then that improves all aspects of driving.

Sorry guys, its gonna be huge $$$ and the next M3 sedan will still be a better all around car.

GL to all those placing orders.

It needs to be 3800 lbs or less.

Agreed 100%, weight is more important than anything in a track car, except I would argue 3600 lbs or less. (even by track standards thats still heavy, same goes for M3)

Well, M5 is not a track car. Still heavy for spirited driving etc, but it is not intended to be a track car..

did a few touch ups, maybe more along the lines of what it will look like once you modders get to it.

original

removed ugly reflectors, tinted, dropped it, etc.

Exactly, if your looking for a track car, your looking at the wrong car.

Watch the m5 testing video in Mirabas, France, they sure as anything try to pass it off as a track car, they even mention it. A wolf around the Nurgburgring; lol, watch how this heavy car gets thrown around like a tank.

I like the improved gas mileage but car side grill really kill it for me. $100K is a bit much for the extra horse power you are getting.
