Ha ha funny you guys are acting like its earth shaking to have beaten an 09 Production CTS-V by a mere 4 seconds. I think that speaks more to the CTS-V's capability than it does the 11 M5. CTS-V one mean machine no matter how you look at it. I love BMW too, but lets atleast be honest and acknowledge others. So lets just compare apples to apples, shall we? That CTS-V would have left skid marks all over an 09 M5. Nough said.

Finally no more V10 crying here
Great new engine, great times. Almost 20 sec over E60 - huge improvement |

Don't get me wrong , I love the STi. I owned one for 6 years and got it to a full stage 4 car with more than 500 whp and it still is one of my preferred car... (I changed it only because I wanted to get something more finished than this. They really should start changing the 15K dashboard on STi and something different for this line...) What I wanted to tell is that with a simple remap of boost/timing and fuel you get about 80-100 whp depending on gas and you have a lot of cars out there that match it up but as for as bang for the money they are awesome track car! The STis are really fast in corners but fast in straight.

I wish we could get an updated e92 M3 time around the track. Wasn't it '07 when the time was posted?

When I think M5, I compare it with the Panamera Turbo/S not the CTS-V. I'm glad it beat the Panamera Turbo Sport Chrono. It will be even better if it beats the Panamera Turbo S too.

The panamera turbo with chrono is quoted there as 100kg heavier than the M5, AND it has a 60hp deficit to the M5 560 vs 500hp. Yet despite being heavier and less powerful, its lap time is only 1 second off the M5. Where did that 100kg and 60hp go? Is it only good for 1 second? |

At the Nordschleife (22.8kms) it's nothing actually. But anyway, my guess is the F10 M5 weighs much more than a Panamera Turbo S irl. We'll see. |

I more or less agree with shift. But one of my neighbours has a Panamera, a black one. And though I find Porkers in general okay, I find a Panamera disgusting to look at, even if it goes 7:19(LOL) at the Ring, it's a no go for me, sorry. At the end of the day I only like a GT3/2RS. The rest, not for me....
Anyway my friend has a 997 GT3 MkII Clubsport, but also has a 1M right now, this is taken outside our hometown, he will trade in the Porker later this year, beacuse he thinks he can handle it right now The Porker first at the Ring, half a year ago: http://www.driving-fun.com/1-1382/tv...-trackday.aspx And here at Assen Moto GP track(where we had Moto GP last weekend) also a few months ago: The new 1M near our hometown: I think he likes the 1M a tad better atm, he told me yesterday...But what does Andre know about driving anyway. This "value" or "bang for the buck" argument only matters to those that can't truly afford the higher priced car in any discussion.
