JB4+BCM Track Results

Went to ATCO last night, ran a best ET of 11.511s, and a best trap of 129.93.

2016 M5 CP
JB4+BCM, Map 2 (22lbs)
MS109/93 Blend
Stock P-Zeros deflated to 25psi
Otherwise completely stock, full weight

Horrible 60ft, could not get any sort of traction until third, it was the trap that I was after and I'm impressed that it's consistently at 130mph at only 22lbs.

Tried turning it to Map 7 (25lbs) and the car lit the tires up right through third, completely useless on stock rubber. I'm thinking with 25lbs I should be in the low 130s, and with a flash/JB4 set to 28lbs (or more) these cars can sit in the high 130s. Going to hit the track again with R888, definitely room to improve as traction was the limiting factor.

Nice runs! ET and trap speed were very consistent. Launch on some Nittos or Toyos and both will improve!!

You're gonna burn your stock clutch at 25psi. Don't say I didn't warn you.

buddy you gotta run meth to safely be at 25psi, did you check your logs? The fuel trims are just about maxed in most cases at 22psi(comp package is ok), but at 25psi no way you have enough fuel and your car is dangerously lean. Octane won't protect you from this either, only a tune or meth

His tires are at 25 psi, turbos are pushing 22 psi on map 2 (22 lbs).

Re-read what he posted. He did a run with map 7 which runs 25psi of boost. But it just kept spinning. If he does that more, he'll burn out his clutch. His tires were also at 25psi.

He said he is going to go back and run R888s which will hook, even with 25psi but it's going to put a hurting on the clutch because the jb4 targets a boat load of torque especially down low which is why it's so strong :-).

Yes I know, which is why I was very hesitant to switch to map 7 without meth or a back end flash. I logged every run, and after sending them to Terry he told me to try out map 7. The JB4 has an auto feature built in that will revert to a lower boost map as a lean-safety as well.

Map 7 will 100% slip the stock clutches eventually, but I'm planning on upgrading to SSP and running a back-end flash/JB4 stack.

Yep, missed that 25psi map 7 part. I wouldn't go passed 22psi without meth/ cluthes/R888's.

Meth not needed if running race gas with the right tuning. You can hit 28psi safely with proper fuel and tuning.

Hey,

Did you try limiting your boost in 1/2/3rd ?

I think that would help out a ton, and let you not spin excessively.

The op's car is not tuned and thats why i made the comment, 25psi is beyond lean. no way he is getting enough fuel on a stock tune with a jb4 without meth

My AFR from the Map 7 log was around 14.2 (5500rpm) down to 12.8 (6600rpm) - pitched leaner than optimal (similar to some logs I've seen of non-CP M5s running Map 2).

For reference, below is a quick screenshot of 4th gear from 5500rpm and up, comparing Map 2 and the one run I did testing out Map 7.

The shortcomings of having only the JB4, nothing a back end flash can't fix.
