New member and owner: Imperial Blue M5

Found a 2013 with 6k miles built 05/13. First BMW, but been an enthusiast and reader of this forum for years. Didn't think I liked Imperial Blue till I saw it in person. Beautiful color and different in various lighting. Hard as black to keep clean though! =)

Don't ya love it.....

Bust your ass carefully foaming, rinsing, 2 bucket washing, drying, vacuuming, polishing, and waxing and what you're left with is one beautiful, dazzlingly shiny automobile with 4 huge, bright orange, rust-finish brake discs.

£7 grand for ceramics? Worth every penny!

Congratulations on the new M5. Indeed its a lovely colour....very rewarding to clean (just like my SB)

It's interesting. I had same view. Didn't think I liked Imperial Blue, then saw one and ordered one back in 2011.

Since I am new, I will just ask here. Why do all my doors not unlock when I turn it OFF? I know, not that big a deal, but explaining to people that two handle pulls open the door is getting old. lol

Dark colors, what to do. Well, this week going with Opti-Coat Pro Plus. Anyone with experience? Multi step process, wash, polish/paint correction, alcohol wipe, Opti Pro coat, Dry, Opti Plus coat, Dry. All exterior covered; paint, lights, rims, windows. Will keep board posted on results as this is a newer Opti product in USA but does use base of Opti-Coat Pro.

On another note, have some IND goodies on the way and some chemical guys products. 😊

I don't know if that can be coded in or not, but I just push the little key button below the emergency flasher button in the center of the dash, between the A/C vents. Unlocks all four doors, or locks them if you wish to do that before you start driving.

Get your coded or do yourself. It is the best feature of coding. There are some other things coding can do but this is my favorite. I hit stop and the engine turns off and the doors unlock. I open the door and all electronics turn off, just like a normal car when you take the key out.
