Almost 61k miles
I'm fixing to hit 61k miles. The car still rides like a dream and still don't need a clutch after all of my slow as driving. #best car for luxury and best of speed!!! When I hit it I'm gonna celebrate w a country run. Rpi FTW!!!

I hate the cold weather so no moving up north for me. Lol. I had the bms for approx 15k and no issues. Now I have a eurocharged tune w no problems for about 5k miles. Oh yea I'm at the stealership now Dave for an alignment. They didn't get it right the first time the other day. My steering g wheel is slightly to the right after they finished the other day so pulling to the right now. It was pretty much fine before I came but since I switched to coilovers I know I needed one.

But just to prove how ridiculous this area is, here is some evidence, cold hard facts, and statistics that I've now been dealing with for the past year and half now. I deal with number 6 on a weekly basis. http://jalopnik.com/5963595/the-most...s-speed-limits And then I drive on number 10 on a weekly basis. But I drive on number 5 on a daily basis, going to and from work. Number 1 also frustrates me because it is actually one of the best roads I've ever been on in the entire country, and that is saying a lot as I have driven the best mountain and desert roads in Southern California, Las Vegas, Washington State, and Montana in my M5. http://jalopnik.com/the-ten-most-rid...ium=socialflow And this is just the speed limits. Then there is the traffic and the retarded people that drive around here. Then the humid summers and frostbitten winters. I'm convinced this is the worst place in the world to live if you love driving. Then again, I hear Jakarta is pretty bad and the people who get stuck in traffic for weeks, yes weeks that's not a typo, in China. I don't know if somebody like DayLaborer or ICE7 will feel the same way because I don't know if they've ever experienced mountain and canyon roads like in Southern California, but I pretty much hate it here. The only way to really have fun in an M car around here is to go to a race track, and that's not easy to do either.

Geeze that sucks Dave. Sounds like you need o move to Houston. Expansive car groups and good roads to do the Mexico posted speed limits on.

This is great news! Im looking to trade my 535i to get an M5 in a couple of years so good to know that the M5 is build solid.
Is there a thread anywhere that list all of the potential issues/common problems the M5 have? |

Not really. Maybe I should start one. Although honestly the list would be quite short compared to you know, an E60 M5 or something. Lol!

I'm here for ya brah! And there are military places where you can check in at. Our winter is very short and miles and miles of country roads with good scenery. Now I know Cali roads are better but we have our share.
As far as problems w the m5:::::yea that requires it's own thread |

How's the transmission smoothness? At 32k miles, mine is reminding me of the old E60 SMG days. No launch controls and really hasn't been driven hard.

Still smooth even after adding a tune . And I don't baby my car. Banging through the gears is a smooth transmission. But I also don't do launch from a start. That's a waste of time as all you'll do is spin anyway.

Boots good to know that you have no issues with the car at 61K miles.
I've been driving my M5 almost daily (75 miles round trip) here at the DC area for the past 2 months with no issues besides "Engine Oil at minimum level". If I ever get rid of this car that would be the main reason. RPIM5 this area isn't too bad. I don't really have issues with the road besides the winter time... dodging potholes and such but I guess you can say I'm use to it. Look at the brightside, at least car has the agility and fun factor cutting through traffic doing power moves. |

M5 cured me of my yearly itch for car replacement - !! Not even thinking about changing it and actually thinking about buying it after lease especially it will be 30K mikes OVER - LOL I had to change my wife's car out of itching - because I couldn't change my beast and got her this Audi Q7 which I love as it drives like a dream too in its own right ... AS it turns out FUN IS NOT ALL ABOUT BEING FAST!! - Do you think I was cured this way?-! Last edited by soooma; 06-26-2015 at 02:56 AM.. |
