ExhaustMeister Installed

Unlike most of the guys on this board, I'm not that dissatisfied with the stock exhaust note. As an owner of the last three iterations of the M5 series, the biggest appeal of this car has been the somewhat stealthiness of it. Velvet Hammer or Quiet Storm. Admire me at the stop light, but the saying "don't start none, won't be none" comes to mind. I don't like to announce my presence too much. My issue with the exhaust note was not so much volume but tone. Wanted it deeper, more aggressive. One night, I followed my car while my wife was driving and was amazed at how often the exhaust valve operated. Closed more often than opened. When we got home, I took a screwdriver and opened the valve an was amazed at how much better it sounded. Enter the ExhaustMeister. I saw this device advertised in the Sponsors Classified forum and was intrigued. You remotely control the valve! I contacted them and they were extremely helpful. They hadn't tried it on an M5, but within a week they had located one and posted excellent installation instructions on their website. I figured for the relatively small price they were asking I'd try it. The quality of the harness is excellent. Looks OEM. Took me 15 minutes for installation. The sound improvement is amazing! Comparable to Eisenmann Sport. Without the $4k okey-doke. Seriously. And of course no drone, as it's the stock exhaust. And I can control the sound with a push of a button. Pulled into the hospital this morning and a guy says "that car sounds awesome". NEVER got that from stock. Hope to post sound clips this weekend. Happy camper.

Nice, I bet it sounds great... definitely post some vids. I wouldn't mind trying it with my Akra.

I love the sound of this.
Quick question - You can open and close at the touch of a button but what if you wanted the car to behave OEM, is that possible (it opens and closes when it thinks it should) or once this is installed does it have to be either open or closed all the time?

You have total control. It also defaults to OEM when you turn off the car.

Just wondering, could this be the Comp Pkg. exhaust upgrade? The valve stays open? Initial reviews state that it is slightly louder than stock.

I think Comp Pak is just stock without baffles per earlier reports. It will also have the valve, so this should work there also, and produce an even better improvement.

This is an excellent find. I'll be going this route.

Open the stock exhaust can. remove the baffling. replace the fenestrated pipe with a non-fenestrated pipe. close it up. Now you have an E-sport exhaust.

Great find. I don't need or want a full aftermarket exhaust, this is a great compromise. I'm going to order one so I have it when the car arrives.

I could use this on my E Sport. Eisenmann charges $1600 for wireless valve control.

This + the Cyba tips would be perfect for those of us that don't want to swap the stock exhaust.

I'm already rockin' them. Although all of a sudden, I want to replace my SS's with carbon...

Will ExhaustMeister™ work with my aftermarket exhaust? •Absolutely! If you aftermarket exhaust retains the the valve, it will work. With louder aftermarket exhausts, ExhaustMeister™ would be of even more benefit since you could quite down the mufflers with the push of a button.

I wonder if this will work with my Eisenmann Race axleback?

I don't think it will work with the E-Race since the race has no valves. The E-Sport has valves.
